A colorful Japanese Art Deco man's juban (under kimono), comprising a crazy quilt pattern of wonderful period hand-woven silk crepe fabrics in rich colors of indigo, red, green and purple, and brown, circa 1930, decorative trim and frog clasp, hand stitched, blue silk lining. Measurements: Sleeve tip to tip-48", shoulder to bottom hem-49"; A beautiful example of Art Deco fabrics in fair condition with frayed silks and lining fading, easily restored. Vintage Japanese glass obidome (sash ornament) with complex interwoven red, black and white streaks resembling kelp strands.. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Excellent crisp work, very pleasant to hold. Length 0.88 inches.

Chinese Hongshan green nephrite Dragon "S" or Embryo Shape,nice stone the biconically drilled hole shows heavy use wear on the inner top edge of the suspension holes indicating long term use. Weight 50g size 2.75" long over 1.25" wide.

Japanese vintage kimono made of navy blue silk with embroidery of chrysanthemums on long vines down the front, and branches with cherry blossoms on the sleeves. The backside has a large, beautiful bunch of embroidered chrysanthemums and cherry blossoms cascading down with two small birds in flight. Vase by Danish manufacturer Hjorth, c 1920-30. Grey stoneware, decoration of Art Déco scroll work in “flow” copper red under beautifully crackled glaze. Probably by Hans Hjorth. The Hjorth Terracotta Factory, now part of the Bornholm museum, is still working in the same premises where it was founded in the 19th century, still using the same equipment. Kon, dark blue, Indigo-dyed cotton haori woven in botan kasuri (peony ikat) technique. Cotton liner features pattern of a crane’s head within hexagons, representing tortoise shells; both crane and tortoise symbolizing long life. A haori is a jacket worn over the kimono when going out. This pretty crystal clear Doric and Pansy depression glass tea or coffee Cup and Saucer were made by Jeannette Glass from 1935 to 1938. Exceptional early Showa Period c.1937 art deco bronze flower vase in the original signed paulownia box. The kanji on the box reads: Chudo Ume Moyo "bronze vase with plum petal motif. Also Kabin or "flower vase". On the inside is the signature of Tatsugo and his seal. The bronze has plum petals in raised relief and inside small crosses. The vase itself is divided in sections by incissed lines. Ask for shipping quote. H:20cm ; diameter is 22cm.

This set of 6 porcelain cups and saucers was produced in Germany by Rosenthal before 1950. The pattern is named “Linnie Lee” decorating an “Ivory” blank. The porcelain is cream colored. The cups have a little pedestal base. It is decorated with a factory transfer of floral sprays and wreathes of flowers. The colors are brightly colored and realistically rendered. The handles and rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent

Japanese wood and lacquer cloisonne document box. The ground features a carved lacquered tree bark design. Applied cloisonne flowers with a butterfly were achieved by using gold tone metal wires which were filled with colored lacquer and then hand polished. Lovely pair of small Chinese ginger jars measuring only 5.5 inches high including finial and 3.5" in diameter. They feature a beautiful crackle glaze with a polychrome scene depicting warriors in the Battle of the 3 Kingdoms. These jars were last used as a antique decorative item on top of a diminutive slant top writing desk in a NYC Park Avenue Apartment before the family retired to NC.
