Early 1800s
This candlestick is cast in the form of a medieval, possibly English, bearded ma. The candle cups and base are attached by a hand-cut screw that formed part of the casting. It has an old, though not original patina. It is in good condition.

Small Indian bronze, cast in one piece depicting Vishnu standing on a Lotus base. The four-armed Hindu god is holding the conch and the chakra. Karnataka / Maharashtra. Condition: fine, few traces of usage, patina. Dimension: 17.8 cm high.
Height approximately 26 cm/each. There are old repairs at one vase. There is a production repair (made at the time of manufacture). Polished and cleaned. In good condition.
Circa 1880 French bronze champleve enamel inkwell with delicately hand-painted bird scenes. It sits on 4 bun feet and is in excellent condition. All enameling is intact with the darkest red color being a beautiful clear wine red (which tends to look a darker/duller in our photos). This lovely inkwell measures 7 inches across and 3" high.

This is an excellently executed mid-19th Century Netsuke depicting a Copper Dragon over the Dojoji Bell, made from Bronze. This dragon is the converted Kiyohime, the daughter of an innkeeper who turned this way after being rejected by the pilgrim Inchin.

This tripod censer is raised on three animal-masked feet that support its large, rounded body. The rim is decorated with a key fret design, and the body has ten lappets composed of stylized mask and key fret designs all in low relief. It retains its original brown patina overall with a deep greenish gray interior from use. Good condition.

A rectangular bronze suiban decorated with patterns of swimming Koi in fast flowing water. The design apparently largely cold worked rather than cast and patinated with a reddish brown finish. The moulded handles in the form of Kuwai, the marshland Japanese Arrowhead plant. Antique Japanese bronze yatate, a pipe shaped container for the carrying of cotton saturated with calligraphy ink with a long shaft for a brush. The main component is cylindrical in shape with an inner compartment and an outer decorative area with scrolling vines and flowers. The lid has a kiri leaf design. The brush shaft has a fu dog towards the top and scrolling vines with kiri leaves running down towards the end, where it stands on an elephant's head.
