Late 19c Chinese Blackwood or possibly Zitan wood brush pot in the classic style with smooth sides and a raised ring at mouth and bottom having 3 low standing low profile feet with drain hole in center bottom of pot. Carved from a single piece of wood, it still retains its original plug which is easily removed for drainage. In excellent condition commensurate with age, it measures 4-5/8" high x 4-1/8" diameter.

The copper base was first engraved with special tools to create the design in relief, the grooves were later filled with glass and then embellished with additional engraving and wonderful shiny gilding. Early 20th Century rose quartz carving of 2 beauties. Made of one piece, it is difficult to find a double figure carving like this. Presented on a custom rosewood stand, this rose quartz carving has really nice details that we were not able to fully capture with a camera. It is much nicer in person and you won't be disappointed. In excellent condition, it measures on stand 10-1/2" high x 5" wide x 2". Carving alone measures 9-1/8" high.
