Large Chinese Ming dynasty wide-mouthed globular form guan jar with short, vertical collar-like neck and wide angled mouth covered overall in a dark brown/black crackled glaze that coats the interior and ends at the base. A thread relief moulded band of scrolling foliage decorates the upper section of the jar. A narrow floral band is above it. Vintage lithographed tin Halloween pan noisemaker, decorated in green, black, white and orange. The decorations include a witch, a ghost and a skeleton around a cauldron. The edges are decorated with jack o'lanterns, owls, bats and black cats. Marked "US Metal Toy Mfg. Co. Made In U.S.A." Very nice condition, some scratching where metal clappers hit against pan, very light rust on the unpainted clappers. Circa 1940s. 7-7/8" long.
Cedar wooden ‘post-hide’ or hashira kakushi that is used as a decoration of the vertical post in a room that is not a corner post, or the vertical post of the tokonoma (niche). A large and very impressive tomb pottery horseman, Chinese, 1368-1644 AD. The type has been thoroughly tested and was burnt approx 500 years ago, placing it in the mid Ming period, c. early-mid 16th. century.
The pottery horseman, a higher-ranking officer, was probably originally equipped with a standard of wood, that has now decayed. He is clad in body armor in blue and torquise and wears a cone- shaped helmet. He is riding a white horse with details in torquise.

This tripod censer is raised on three animal-masked feet that support its large, rounded body. The rim is decorated with a key fret design, and the body has ten lappets composed of stylized mask and key fret designs all in low relief. It retains its original brown patina overall with a deep greenish gray interior from use. Good condition.

A rare Burmese book with paper (made from mulberry tree bark) pages, the front and back covers with lacquer relief decoration with small inset glass spangles. The central panels showing the title of the book in Burmese script. Approximately 280 pages, handwritten in black Burmese script, edges gilt. A spectacular and beautiful circa 1730 English silk embroidered apron front, exquisitely embroidered in polychrome silk and metallic threads with garlands and sprays of flowers urns.
