Although Adderley is often credited by sellers as the maker of all Blue Chelsea series of table wares, the truth is that it was produced by many makers. This coffee pot is unmarked but clearly a fine Staffordshire example.

A mulberry transfer English Staffordshire plate in the Athens pattern by William Adams & Sons made c. 1850. The inking is crisp and sharp, even on the backside as evidenced by the clear registry mark. The shape has 14 edges. Adams was one of the longest lived potters in England, operating as late as the 1990s.

A marvelous pair of Dresden or Old Paris porcelain candlesticks with carefully painted cherubs holding to each nozzle while upholding while perched on stumps. The winged characters are draped with modesty scarves which swirl around the sticks. The quatrefoil bases are embellished with gold and encrusted with pink flowers.

The slightly brassy gilding cause me to date these beautiful candlesticks as early as 1880 since they are unmarked, to as late as 1910...

A lovely pair of Chinese sancai scheme enameled parrots perched upon an openwork stump. These birds are variously said to be roof tile ornaments or incense burners, but agree that the former is correct. They are Chinese export wares which were made in the 19th century to early 20th century.

Condition is very good to excellent with some very minor glaze flaking at the base...

This fine antique Baccarat bottle with its optic swirl device was created in the Rubina style which features and red to clear coloration. The jar has a weight worthy of its pedigree, and dates to early 20th century. The hollow stopper is marked with the same number as the base of the bottle, confirming that the two are a match.

Condition is excellent though the glass may have manufacturing imperfections.

A beautiful mahogany shaped knife box made of solid sides and fitted with slotted board to hold knives. The cyma and creased shaped front supports a non-working brass lock escutcheon and opening handle. The corners are molded. The cover is decorated with a star inside, and attached with brass hinges. The base of the box is also molded. Over all, the design and construction are sumptuous.

Case: 7.125" x 3.125” Brass and beveled glass carriage clock in the Boite Riche design with a shaped carrying handle above the flat pediment with the glazed aperture to view the platform escapement (not shown in photos). This monumental Japanese porcelain charger is painted in blue and white depicting buildings on stilts overlooking mountains, waters, and trees among a beautiful waterfall, situated at the banks of a calm body of water with a boat in the distance.

The scenery is surrounded with scrolls in a band upon which lay leaves and flowers. The uniquely rendered waves add special interest.

The back of the charger has what may be seen as scrolling vine and leaf decoration...

This vase stands out with its beautiful cranberry color with rich jeweled honey gilding accented with white scrollwork and blue swags. The sinuous form enhances the overall elegance of its Art Nouveau inspired sensibilities.

Unmarked but clearly Bohemian in origin. We date this class to c. 1910 or earlier.

Condition is excellent with some very minor losses to the gilding

A very warm and appealing Chinese porcelain blue and white jar with swirling leaf and vine decoration similar to those produced during the Kangxi reign. This example dates to about 1880, late in the Qing dynasty.

The cobalt is fine quality and the design will bring pleasant moments of contemplation.

This extraordinary wood carving is a figure of Santo Nino enveloped in an oval cartouche with swirling flourishes above and below. This exceptional wood carving of a Santos was made during the early 19th C. and was executed with bold strokes with great impressiveness. The central figure is giving the sign of Christ while holding a black object - perhaps a globe - in his other hand. The Jacob Petit factory at Fontainebleau produced these porcelain cornucopia vases Century 1840. The lavish cornucopias are mounted on rectangular bases decorated with rocaille and gilded swags and vines; the corners are finished with swans. These exceptional vases decorated in the Chinese style were produced by the firm inherited by Charles Mason who secured rights to the famous Mason's Patented Ironstone in 1813. This fine Ruby Block goblet was made by several manufacturers during the 1880s and beyond. It features hexagonal blocks surrounded by diamond "cuts", but it is pressed glass of course, made in 4 parts, the bowl being fused to the stem.

Known by many names and made by many companies, this goblet is unusual because the top is ruby stained, a reversal of the usual placement. Souvenir of Lewistown, PA is faintly scripted. We guarantee it to be antique.

This high standard compote is of extra generous size to show off its many virtues. The bowl is McKee and Brothers (1853-99) Shell pattern also known as Fans with Diamonds. It would date to c. 1880.

The ring of the lid and its weight indicate lead or flint. It is decorated with beautifully designed stippled fruits such as pears, cherries, apples, and berries with detailed leaves.

Although it is smaller than other examples of this genre, this tea caddy packs a big punch with its gorgeous blue and white hand painted Chinese scenery. It depicts both natural scenery as well as different structures such as home and pagoda. The rim of the shoulder is accented with pale gold enamel.

The cannister is constructed of two halves fused together. The painting is naïve, covering the caddy in the round.

As crisp and vivid as it was when new 120 years ago, this porcelain pitcher shows off the splendors of Pickard China Co, an American based manufacturer of the best porcelain. While it often used Limoges blanks in its formative years, this one is unmarked and may produced domestically. In any event, Pickard employed the best artists and enamellers as this example atests.

When Dr Wall discovered a formula for porcelain which would withstand boiling water, he had a huge hit on his hand. This Victorian copper luster pitcher practically dances with joy for the colorful flowers strung around the blue band of its bulbous form. Beading borders the blue and rim of the pitcher. A Chinese mutton fat nephrite jade pendant or toggle of Budai measuring about 2 1/2" long and weighing 86g. While primarily white in color, the jade has a few random russet sections on the side and rear, and evinces under strong light a faint subtle green tint. There is a hole which is used to thread for wear. Unmarked.

A very rare cast iron fireplace tool set with caddy includes tongs, poker, and shovel. The caddy in enameled in black over a white primer, a clue to help dating of the set. The caddy is formed of rectilinear lines with a bird with large plumes in the center. Each of the tools has a ring for either grabbing or hanging. An especially attractive flint glass mold pressed goblet in the block and star pattern with ruby flashed top. Overall condition is very good although you can see some mild loss to the ruby stain. The glass probably dates to circa 1910. It was most likely made by Tarentum Glass.

A fine leaded glass water goblet with wheel cut swag and leaf motifs around the top of the bowl. The round foot is cut with a Star of David which rises with highly facet stem blocks upon which rests bowl with graduated terraces before gushing with flaring walls. The glass is most elegant with its watery translucence. Condition is excellent.

The goblet belonged to the collection of Lenna Gertrude Clarke Judd (1865 - 1939) who moved from New York City in 1903 to Dalton, Georgia where she became a well respected philanthropist through out the sate. We have the complete provenance from Mrs Judd down to the present.
