A most beautiful, most impressive, large underglaze blue and white decorated bowl from the Ming Dynasty, Wanli Period ( 1573 - 1620 ) The Cobalt blue is excellent, the decoration of the Ducks in a Lotus-pond is superb. Diameter : 22,1 cm. H : 11 cm. Condition : There is one old secured crack to the wall of the bowl but there is also still a bright " Ping " tone when tapped. No chips, extremely minute fritting to the rim (actually not really worth mentioning).

An unusual deep square moulded bowl with a slightly everted rim decorated both to the exterior and the interior with stylised dragon and floral motifs within iron red grounds and leaf and lotus motifs to the corners. The rim decorated with an underglaze blue diaper band inset with small stylysed floral motifs...

A sometsuke dish of twelve sided dodecagonal form painted in a refined Kakiemon style. The rim border is divided into six fan shaped panels decorated with three sets of alternating floral compositions featuring respectively Bamboo, take, Peonies and rocks, botan, and shibagaki Brushwood fences. The centre painted with Cherry trees and a formal balustrades. The reverse is decorated with a Kraak style pattern of strapwork divisions and stylised flowers...

Decorated with dragons, fish, butterflies and long life characters, inlaid with glass beads. The enamels in green, red, purple and several shades of blue. This type of tiaras was worn by high ranking court ladies at the end of the Qing Dynasty. Size: W. 20 cm , H. 11 cm. Height including stand 38 cm.

An interesting bronze mirror with its original lead handle. This is rare as most of the time the lead handles have been replaced because the original has disintegrated. Diameter 14 cm, Length 21 cm. Mounted on a museum quality stand.

Antique Japanese ojime (toggle bead) in the form of Bodhi Darma (Daruma), shakudo (an alloy of gold and copper) with a red face , carved with incredible detail, wonderful expression, Meiji Period. Size: 11/16 of an inch high.

An example of “Kenjo” Imari presentation ware, having high quality enamel decoration in reds, green, aubergine and gilding surrounding underglaze cobalt blue. There is a fine, lightly stained crackle to the interior and exterior base. This piece was made for domestic use in Japan and was not intended for export. Overall good condition. Purchased in Kyoto ca. 1974.

A very finely potted and finely painted blue and white vase depicting three five-clawed dragons, amongst cloud scrolls, in pursuit of flaming pearls and above stylized breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795) but, after three years deliberation, we have come to the conclusion that this item was probably made later, circa 1880-1920, during the late Qing or early Republic periods...

This 19th-century bamboo carving represents an old sage leaning on a broom as if he has drifted into thought once he finished sweeping. He has been there long enough for one fresh leaf to fall. Six pages (3 double sides) of a Tibetan/Mongolian music manuscript with YANG-YIG GRAPHIC MUSIC NOTATION. Inks on paper. Good condition, finger marks to corners, stain across centre fold, each page 19 x 6 cm cm. Undated estimated to be late 19th century or earlier. In thick double fronted mount. Can be viewed in London. Such texts would have been used as a mnemonic device by the master of chant. The type of graphic notation of the melody line goes back to the 6th century...

A Very Fine and Rare Bronze Bowl/Cover with a Beautiful Patina. Korea, Koryo dynasty (11th – 14th century. The deep bowl with thinly cast, sloping steep sides and sharply tapering to a raised, mounted on a splayed raised ring foot, with overall covered with a beautiful blackish olive green patina including the cover and with a lotus bud shaped knob. Large Meiji Period Bunraku Puppet of Tokagawa Ieyasu. Extremely rare on this grand scale (4 feet high, 122 cm). This fine quality puppet was possibly made at the request of the puppeteer Kiritake Monjuro II, as the hero in Bunraku plays. It has a fantastic dynamic presence, and is carved of Poloma wood covered in gofun (oyster shell lacquer) featuring sumptuous silk brocades with Tokagawa crests and dragons.

A masterful rendering of an unusually large rooster posturing in full stance. The metals used are copper, silver, and gold. The major body of the cockerel is called shibuichi which is meticulously composed of silver and copper mixture. The feathers are beautifully sculpted and chased in details. The movement of the feathers pronounce the figurative composition. Its tail feather is patinated and infused into the silver.
