This leaf shape Chinese late 19th century export Canton blue and white dish is 7 ½” long, 5 ½” at its widest part and 1 ¼” high. It depicts buildings, trees and rock along with a lake (or river). One man holds an umbrella crossing a bridge while another man is paddling a small boat near by. It is in excellent condition.

Ming Dynasty Chinese Wood Sculpture of a General on Horseback, with original pigments. 11 x 5 x 3.25 inches, 28 x 13 x 8 cm. Purchased from Askenasi in Paris in 1978 by Irwin Hersey, renowned author on Asian and primitive art, and publisher of the Primitive Art Newsletter in the 1970s. Irwin Hersey was an advisor to museums and prominent collectors, and vetted pieces for many of the international tribal art fairs and Asian art fairs.

This is a beautiful Pelican Lake point found in Wyoming that I purchased from the Arley Hudson collection in 1987. It is made from a gorgeous waxy translucent orange moss agate with two ribbons of white agate showing on the lower right side. The reverse side is heavily patinated from exposure. It is 2" long. It is extremely well chipped. You won't be disappointed with this one.

Tenuki is depicted standing, his head covered by his huge scrotum. It is carved in a wood that seems to me to be cherry. The sculpture is simple and vigorous. The netsuké is ideally compact in shape. Unusual porcelain bowl in the shape of a double gourd with two separate compartments. The large section is for washing brushes; the small section may be used as a brush holder.
