This Chinese pink glazed vase is a mid 19th century product. The entire body is covered with a soft rosy pink glaze, commonly called du Barry rouge. The Chinese name for the shape of this kind of vase is “Tian Qiu Vase” 天 球 瓶. It is 8” high and 5” wide measured from the widest part. Early 19th century (1830s) Chinese Rose Medallion porcelain cup and matching saucer decorated in numerous colored enamels with scenes of birds and butterflies among flowers. The cup is enameled on the outside with a floral spray in 4 colors, and 3 sprays in blue. Excellent quality painting, beautiful vibrant colors. Typical early 19th century original blemishes in potting, overall in excellent condition. Saucer diameter 5 5/8 inches, cup diameter 3 13/16 inches, cup height 2 inches.
