obv. Castle with three towers and open doors and risen porticullis (arms of Hamburg) with date (1-6-2-1) split between towers within circle of beads. In outer circle the legend MONETA•NOVA•CIVITATIS•HAMBURGENSIS• and fist with tinhook

rev. Crown above double-headed eagle with value in shillings (32) on breast within circle of beads. In outer circle the legend FERDINANDUS•II•D:G:ROMA:IMP:S:A:

A wonderful guaranteed authentic silver mounted snuff bottle in celadon porcelain, dating to Quan Zhi, 1720-1750 AD.

The bottle elegant scrolls under a finely transperant celadon glaze. Silver stopper with jade, contemporary and correct.

Size: ca. 66 mm. tall.

Condition: Choice and perfect, thus rare from this early period.

Superb early Peking glass snuff bottle, Chinese dating to 1760-1780.

Bubble-suffused glass bottle of compressed globular form with translucent red overlay. The lip is flat, and the base has a thick oval foot ring that has been carved to reveal the slightly convex shape of the body. Old gilt stopper with no pin inside.

Size: 74 mm. tall.

Condition: Superb!. The bottle completely intact and perfect; the red glass & metal stopper with some light wear.

A lovely chestnut brown patinated plate coin 1/2 daler 1716 from Karl the XII (1697-1718).

These platecoins are very seldomly this nice: Finely struck stamps, wonderful metal and a fine patina. Bears an old 1980s-1990s pricetag of 6800 d. kr.

Size: 10,5 cm. in diameter and weighing ca. 370 grams.

An interesting large Roman-Late Roman bronze Oil Lamp, ca. 3rd.-5th. century AD:

The lamp round with two arrow-shaped nozzles / spouts and a lid.

Size: Max 11,5 cm. incl. nozzles.

Condition: Fine, fractured at one side and lid repaired. Nice green patina.

Interesting larger stone head carved in Vulcanic stone on the Iberian peninsular, Iberian-Roman or Celt-Iberian manifacture, around 3rd. cent. BC-1st. cent. AD.

From a collection of an artist and once bought at a London dealer for ca. $8000. The head depicts a bearded older man, perhaps a leader or even a god. Typical celt-Iberian features, but also inspired by grecco-roman art.

Size: c. 17 cm. tall and 12 cm. deep.

A lovely Phoenician / Early Greek period terracotta figure of Astarta, ca. 5th. century BC.

She is so fine standing nude with hands out from the hips wearing a headdress, long pony tail at the back. Wonderful details!

Condition: Choice! Originally cast with seperate arms so these deattached when cleaned and was reattached.

A very nice early German School carved and painted figure of Madonna, Germany, ca. 1500 AD.

She is standing crossing her arms in long garments and a robe with hood. Finely painted in colours.

Size: 24,5 cm. tall.

Condition: Choice for type! Basically intact with limited wormbites and some flaking of the paint, still nice and sound.

A stunning, attractive macehead of a nice large size, in fine redish granite, 3rd. millenium BC.

The artifact is polished to a perfectly symethric compressed oval form with a deep groove in the center. These were made by the singlegrave culture and was a weapon like the battle axes from this fase and as attractive and perfect.

Size: 95 mm. long, 80 mm. wide and 57 mm. thick.

Condition: Superb, with fine patina and undamaged.

A scarce Danish neolithic Daggeraxe from the Funnelbeaker culture dating to 3500-3000 BC.

The daggeraxes were mounted on shafts just like axes, and there is a general understanding that their use was connected to rituals and ceremonies as well as used as weapons. But compared to daggers and axes, the daggeraxes were only made in very limited numbers and are thus rare today.

Interesting and beautiful fragment (half) of a battle axe, helbard type, 2800-2400 BC.

The axe carved in a unique stone with multible fossils included, a rarity as such.

A fine intact votive pottery figurine of an infant in a cradle, Greek ca. 3rd.-2nd. century BC.

A rare and beautiful ceramic composition of a naked infant boy laying with arms above the head in a cradle / bed. Very interesting piece!

A beautiful pair of Thinbladed Danish Neolithic Axes dating to 3rd mill BC.

The 'thinbladed' types of axes, developed in the later 3rd mill. where the flintsmiths began to make more specialised, smaller tools. Both are unpolished with nice glossy patinas.

One is an adze with a slightly hollow edge - the other axe with calky white patina on one side. Mottled beige and white on the other side.

Sizes: 12 & 13,8 cm - 4,7 &5,5 inches.

An interesting set of Western-Central Asian / Bactrian bronzes from 2nd. millenium BC.

A drinking bowl with low rim and cup with a somewhat higher vessel. The cup is quite massive and heavy.

Large vessel with high walls - for food or water storage. A small omphalos in the interior.

Sizes: 9 x 3 & 8 x 4,5 cm / 3,5 x 1,2 & 3 x 1,8 inches.

Condition: Choice, uncleaned bowls. The cup with a hairline crack. Very nice patinas.

Impressive Blackstone stele of Surya the Sungod, Pala period, 10th.-11th. cent. AD.

A carving in grey-black stone depicting Surya holding lotuses, riding a chariot drawn by seven horses, each depicting a day of the week and named after the seven meters of Sanskrit prosody, Gayatri, Brihati, Ushnih, Jagati, Trishtubha, Anushtubha and Pankti. His charioteer is Arun, the dawn, brother of Garuda and he has no legs.

He is flanked by the two goddesses of dawn, Usha and Pratyusha ...

A wonderful collection of 9 silver implements, Chimú-Inca period, ca. 12th.-15th. century AD.

The selection incl. a very large pin with oval hammered finial as well as a pin or small coca spoon with round hammered head and two fine pins with bird-head finials.
