Unusual Japanese wood carving of a figure, appearing to be a foreign man, who wields an axe head. The figure is seated, kneeling upon a jagged throne. The patina of the carving shows remnants of old lacquer.

Chinese porcelain hat stand vase with a hand painted scene of a boy playfully dangling a toy spider in front of his pet cat. Mother and brother are standing nearby watching. Dates early 20th C. Measures 11.5" high x 5" diameter.
Finely porcelain decorated with flower on the center, and floral on the outside, glazed base. PERIOD : Middle Ming 16th Century MEASUREMENTS: 10,5 cm wide, 5.5 cm tall. CONDITION: no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restoration. Good ping sound when tapping by finger tips.

Original Japanese woodblock print by Kitao Masanobu (1761 – 1816) from the “Eastern Tune Koyka by Fifty Poets”, date 1786. The color woodblock print depicts an image of a seated warrior with a poem above. Print has toning, spots, and marks throughout, fading to inks, loss of red ink stripes on face, abrasions to lower right corner. Not examined out of frame.

Cotton futonji with katazome (stencil-resist dye), which is remade from yogi (one kind of futon in the shape of kimono). It is made of hand spun cotton and dyed with vegetable indigo. The reddish-brown color is bengara (iron oxide red pigment). 19th century. In good condition except for three mending patches. one snag and some small holes. W:153cm, L:165cm

The centre of the dish is decorated with an unusual version of a Karashishi which would seem to be floating upon a feather set against a net like blue ground which has been produced using the shiranaku technique.
