Very nice small Japanese bronze bowl with a slightly flared lip. May have been used on an alter for offerings or to burn incense. Beautiful warm patina with nice weight to it, this bowl measures 3" across the top by 1.25" high. Dates circa 1850.

Rare image of a Qilin Chinese "unicorn" with stunning deep aquamarine Qingbai glaze. This is a fragment of a much larger piece, possibly a finial off a censer. H: 9.5cm/3.9in, W: 7cm/2.8in x 4.5cm/1.8in. The sculpture is in excellent condition, there is a film of hardpacked soil in the crevices which can be (see enlargements), this can be removed with a small blade with a bit of effort, soaking it in water for a week or so will help. I am leaving it on as it speaks to the age of this piece...

Large furoshiki made of hand-spun cotton with tsutsugaki design which are auspicious motifs, such as fukura suzume (sparrow), bamboo, pine tree. plum flower and scrolls. Very rare Tang Dynasty (618CE to 907CE) terra cotta wall tile depicting the face of a Zhemushou, a fierce guardian earth spirit meant to ward off evil. It is a trapezoidal shape with much of original red and black pigments intact. Some loss to the lower lip (please see enlargements). Lower W: 19cm/7.8in, upper W: 16cm/6.1in and H: 20cm/9in.

Small covered box with an embossed decoration all around the body representing stylised animals in small medalions. The lid is surmounted by an animal (tiger?) and the base is decorated with a lotus. Architectural element carved in the shape of a Hindu deity head wearing a formal cap. Nicely patinated wood, with old carpenter nails still inserted in some areas. India, early 18th century. Height: 26 cm. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Abrasion due to great age, partly chipped nose, otherwise good condition.

This miniature jarlet and ewer are very rare so-called “associated finds” when people in Indonesia do excavate pieces of the Song and the Yuan Dynasty. Both pieces, the white glazed small miniature ewer and the very well potted jarlet of globular form are very rare and belong to the earliest Dehua ware pieces of the Song Dynasty. Fine & Rare Chinese Song / Yuan / Early Ming Dynasty Longquan Celadon Jarlet - Lotus Pattern

This rare small jar was made during the 13th / 14th century at the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang province. It is coated in a thick celadon glaze and has a particularly attractive and crisp moulded floral pattern including lotus blossoms. There are two small loop handles at the shoulder. The unglazed base is slightly concave.
