A Yuan Dynasty octagonal "belimbing shaped" jarlet which most likely represents the so far best existing piece of its kind. Please look in any private - or Museum collection and you will not find a better example. A jarlet of octagonal ( belimbing ) shape, decorated with splashed iron brown spots and a Qingbai ( Yingqing ) glaze over a porcelain body. The flat base unglazed. Yuan Dynasty 1279 - 1368. Diameter: 5,7 cm. H: 6,3 cm. Condition : Perfect.

A very well and thinly potted porcelain bowl with a polychrome decoration ( Famille-rose ) of the "Eighteen Luohans" . To the base a red six-character Mark. Qing Dynasty, Guangxu period ( 1875 - 1908 ) Diameter : 15,8 cm. Condition : There is a very flat chip to the inside of the footrim. Further in an absolutely perfect condition.

This is Japanese antique Edo Period (1800-1857)Hand drawn dyed of yuzen dye & Hand embroidery Excellent silk fukusa textile. Its design, Yuzen dyeing and embroidery techniques show the characteristics made in the Edo period. Although it has a slight stain, there is no damage, it is a very good condition. Chinese rectangular ink box made of white brass and copper. The lid is decorated with calligraphy inscription and chop. The interior of the box with dark patina and ink stone. The copper based is signed with maker's mark.

A bronze vase of compressed bottle form in archaistic style with elongated handles. Bands and panels of Taoitie motifs and lozenge diaper liewen brocade. See Bonhams 2016 lot 470 Asian Art Knightsbridge London for a near identical vase there attributed to the Ming dynasty. The vase is 21.8cm high, the base 9.8cm wide. Some casting flaws to the neck and possible patching at the time of production. A loose plate to the interior of the footring. Good patina...

Japanese gifu choba tansu made with Hinoki and Sugi wood and hand-forged iron hardware including Hirute drawer pulls and plating. The sliding panels with slats open to a spacious interior. The bottom of the chest holds two drawers recessed behind a locking bar, and a safe door with two small drawers inside. Original finish.

This is a really fine piece of Japanese Golden Age cloisonne with a very pleasing form. This phoenix design and form are unique. We have only seen one other like this and it was the mate to this one that recently sold. Condition is excellent except for a superbly filled surface chip. The before and after images can be seen in the last images. The vase is large standing 12 inches tall.

A Chinese silver tankard, applied onlaid with a continuous decoration of a phoenix, birds of paradise and storks amongst flowering trees, chrysanthemums and prunus. It has a hammered background, a vacant shield and double-walled interior. The decoration is in high relief, creating a three dimensional sculptural surface and amazingly in an excellent condition. Slightly distorted cylinder shaped (tsuzu) tea bowl with straight walls, made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife around the foot ring.

The bowl was covered with black iron oxide glaze of the non glossy type (preferable!) and then covered with a black glaze in the style of a Seto-guro bowl...

An Arita porcelain deep dish painted in shades of underglaze blue with fishermen in a boat in a river landscape. This item was made in Japan, during the Edo period, in the second half of the 18th Century. Condition: there is a glaze imperfection (bottom left) below the boat; no damages and no repairs or restoration. 22 cm / 8.7 inches diameter

Pair of Japanese damascene candlesticks, the body of each with dramatic imagery of serpentine dragons and fireballs. The foliate petal rims decorated with chrysanthemums and coiling vines, and the tripod feet with auspicious objects and flowers. Both candlesticks are signed "Kuma" in gilt pigment on the base.

Antique Japanese small tansu chest made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. The chest is configured with seven drawers of various sizes: 3 small drawers above 2 medium drawers above 2 large drawers. Black iron hardware includes 7 round lock plates, circular corner bracing and square drawer pulls.

A rare and complete group of an ox and carriage in grey pottery with remains of polychrome. China, Tang Dynasty (618-907). The result of the thermoluminescence test by Kotalla is consistent with the dating of this lot. The report is included in the sale. Dimensions: the carriage H. 32 cm, L. 23 cm, the ox H. 18 cm, L. 23 cm. Condition: very good, no visible repairs, although repairs on early pottery are quite common and accepted. Antique Japanese Scroll Triptych, signed Sumiyoshi Hirosada (1793-1862) , 7th head of the Sumiyoshi line of painters. Three paintings: One painting is of two men meeting on a mountain path, pines and blossoming plum trees dot the hillside and the rooftops of a fishing village can be seen emerging through the mist. Another scroll depicts a lady seated at her writing table by her pavilion window. Outside, the moon shines above pine covered hills...

Rare purse , made of leather, brass and silver, with lotus, sea creatures and makala design. Inlaid with coral. Dimensions: the purse alone 13x9,5 cm, including leather strap and sash 45 cm. Condition: very good age wear and patina, one of the sea creatures is missing its tail.

Chinese peking glass brush pot or bitong, of a round cylindrical form and foot slightly recessed. The rich amber peking glass contains gold flakes within it.
