High quality porcelain, decorated with cranes, glazed base. PERIOD : Wanli (1563 – 1620 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 19.5 cm wide. CONDITION: perfect, no chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restorations.

Early 17th century (Edo Period 1603-1868) distorted shoe shaped (tsutsugata) white Shino Chawan with a rounded brim, made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife in the lower part of the body and around the foot ring.

This bowl was covered with a white Shino type of ash glaze. Under the transparent glaze two young pine tries were painted in iron oxide...

This is dangawari katazome & tsutsugaki cotton katsugi kimono of the Edo era(1770-1799). The 18th century. The form size of the collar of this katsugi kimono has a characteristic of the 18th century. This is a rare Wan type chawan, around 400 years old in shape close to a tenmoku tea bowl. It is thrown on a wheel from coarse, unrefined iron bearing clay.

The grey ash glaze has been painted on the body with a straw brush as seen on Korean hakeme chawan. A stone in the wall has exploded in the fire - a very sought after effect ( see pic number 2 ), giving this type of Karatsu bowls its name: ishihaze (exploding stone)...

A transitional Ming - Qing Chongzhen - Shunzhi blue and white big jar, rounded side with short neck and glazed base, out turned neck and oviod body, jar decorated with under glaze blue of Hibiscus or peony flower scroll motif.
Jar is in good condition no chip, no crack, no restoration, there is faint glaze line near the base.
