An antique Chinese classical painting
Antique Chinese ovoid form ink stone carved of green serpentine and inscribed with calligraphy on one side and archaic script on the reverse. The text on the front of the ink stone references a quote from the Analects of Confucius:
子曰:“不患人之不己知,患不知人也。 Which translates as
Xue Er: The Master said, "I will not be afflicted at men's not knowing me; I will be afflicted that I do not know men." There is a key difference however
in the middle of the phrase...

n antique 19th Century Bronze Elephant Bell from Burma with an intricate relief design on both sides. Has a clapper which makes a loud sonorous sound when in motion. Good condition. Very finely detailed hand carved bone lime box from Timor, circa mid 20th century, with wooden stopper. L 10cm/4.1in. Included is anthropomorphic stopper from the Bataks near Lake Toba, Sumatra. They’re unrelated but somehow look like they belong together.

Bordered by a beautiful silvery brocade with alternating phoenix and dragon roundels, backed with a green-yellow fabric. 19th century netsuke of a head of a nio - (also called Kongōrikishi) - a wrathful and muscular guardians of the Buddha standing at the entrance of a Buddhist temple. Nio are dharmapala manifestations of the bodhisattva Vajrapani, the oldest and most powerful of the Mahayana Buddhist pantheon. This particular image represents Naraen Kongo, his mouth is closed representing the vocalization of the sound “N” - the last letter of the Sanskrit alphabet...
This is a great example of a bronze dagger axe or ge. These weapons are unique to the ancient cultures of China and were in use throughout the bronze age. Characteristics of this piece suggest it would date to the Wester Zhou period (ca 700 BC) or possibly even earlier. It is small, with only two perforations for lashing to a pole. It weighs 179 grams. It measures 16.2 cm in length and 8.15 cm in height. It is very heavy, solid and stable with no signs of repair or restoration...

Japanese lacquer incense box with low-relief designs of plum blossoms in maki-e lacquer on finely sprinkled nashiji lacquer ground. The plum branch pattern is continuous along the sides of the box. The base and interior of the box are finished in fine nashiji lacquer, and the space where the lid and base join together is done with silver.
