A superb pair of hanging scrolls depicting a group of Japanese beauties set in two seasons, spring and summer. The scroll is mounted in fine damask silk in the san-dan style. Unusual high quality scroll ends with reticulated scrolling vine silver covers. The scroll comes with a box inscribed: Ukiyoe shichiken mitate, which roughly translates to An ukiyoe painting arranged in the seven sages style. Age: Taisho Period Size: Each height 88.5" width 40"

A very fine 19th Century Chinese Painting on paper depicting a vivid scene in a courtyard where a noble lady on a white horse is getting ready to escape or leave the premises on a secret mission while being attended to by 5 attentive servants, one bearing an important scroll, and 2 guards ready to open the gates of the premises. The scene is beautifully rendered in soft pastel colors with trees, foliage and walls of the mansion. The painting projects excitement, secrecy and a sense of urgency...

The whole body, except for the top, is carved in relief with lingzhi fungus of hardwood of rosewood family. The waist, the apron, and the connecting joints are also decorated. The legs are slight cabriole leg with block carved hoof feet.

This is a large, early and powerful Tibetan copper repousse head. The piece is adorned with a crown of five skulls surrounded by flames.There is some very minor damage to the figure's left ear, a split, visible in the photos. Two of the crowns have lost their finial, again visible in the photos. The piece is substantial, sitting a generous 5-3/4" in height. The piece was most probably surmounted by a flame(?), now also missing...

Depicting a mountain view with pine trees and pagoda when old man riding a deer up to the winding road, it was a picture the scholars would always be dreamed of.

A fine seji, celadon, and sometsuke style dish. In the early eighteenth century it would appear that this style of decoration was the preserve of the Nabeshima kiln. However in the Kyoho era during the Shogunates economy drive this style of porcelain was largely replaced with sometsuke patterns...

A rare Chinese Jin to Yuan dynasty Cizhou russet splash big bowl. Unlike a lot of other russet bowls, there is an additional painted floral decoration at the center of this bowl, according to the tradition, bowls with this kind of additional work were meant to tribute into the palace. Dia. 19cm. Condition: 2 very thin lines, almost invisible, located to the opposite side of the bowl, no restore, in good condition as shown. Shipping from Taipei, Taiwan via EMS at actual cost...

This very well molded and colored late 19th century sitting Guan Yin is 9 ½” high, 4 ¾” wide and 3 ½” deep. It depicts Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) holding a RuYi scepter and pearl sitting on a double lotus seat. Aside from a crack line on the back due to firing, it is in excellent condition.

A charming Japanese chawan or tea ceremony bowl, with satsuma yaki ware crackle underglaze painted in polychrome enamels with gold gilt touches, delicate imagery of flowers and gentle breezes with a single butterfly.

Late ming blue and white large bowl decorated with Dragon and Phoenix at outer wall and flying fish at the center.21,5cm diameter.9,5cm high. Good conditions, just found glaze fritting at the rim.no hair lines and free from any restoratons.

Diameter approximately 9.3 cm. Few chips at the rim. A hairline at the body.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this quality bronze surgical instrument. The instrument was used as a probe and one end is grooved, which may have been used to hold sutures. There is a nice banded groove design toward the end and the bronze instrument has a lovely ancient olive patina. The instrument itself measures 6 5/8" in length. This comes beautify and professionally framed with a description plaque on the front. The frame size measures 11.25" x 9.25". Roman, Ca. 100 A.D.
