This is an Achaean archer's arrowhead that was crafted in bronze using the V-shaped tanged technique. This is a collection of 10 bronze arrow points, 5 iron spear or lance points, and one Roman iron lance point excavated in Europe. The bronze points likely date to around 300 BC, give or take a few centuries. The iron points probably date to between 200 AD and 1200 AD. These are good examples to add to your collection. This is a fantastic little copper point from the Afghan/Turkestan area. It dates to circa 300 BC. It measures 142 mm in length and weighs 37 grams. It has a circular perforation in the tang. The piece has a light, attractive patina and is very solid and stable with no signs of damage or repair.

This is an exceptional example of a bronze sword from ancient Luristan (circa 1000BC). It has a choice patina and is very clean overall. The handle would have been inlaid with bone, wood or ivory which is now long gone. Three original rivets remain in the handle and at least one of them moves freely back and forth without falling out. Bronze ring dating from 8-6th century BC made in Northern Italy by Villanovian culture named from a typical settlement discovered in 1853 at Villanova, near Bologna. Wonderful artifact with rich green patina, in excellent shape for a 2700 year old object. The piece comes from the Koutalakis collection. Can actually be worn as ring - the inner diameter is 15.5 mm, which corresponds to ring size 4.

Interesting and unusually large decorated bronze tweezer, likely Roman but could be much older, perhaps late bronzeage European.

The tweezer measure 10,8 cm. in lenght and is solidly constructed and finely decorated with lines. Two tiny rivets in the low area. The design is most likely Roman, but the fine execution and the rivets could point to an earlier manifacture date.

Condition: Nice VF, absolutely lovely red-brown patina, but a c. 30% loss at one side.

Chinese rare Sancai glazed pottery figure of a standing horse. The saddle pad is glazed with four colors including a rare blue. The saddle itself is covered with a vermillion slip and naturalistically modeled with sweeping folds of fabric. An large and exceptional bronze oil lamp with handle in shape of a leaf and pyramid-shaped, pierced lid. Byzantine, 5th - 6th century A.D.

The lamp is finely engraved and well built. A substantial and very elegant bronze lap with beautifully patinated surfaces. Interestingly, an openwork lid was chosen for it in antiquity, perhaps since it became to hot with a closed tight lid, due to the large size and construction.

This is a very high quality casting, depicting Silenus, dating to the 1st-3rd century AD. A substantial casting with very fine detailing and hand-chasing. The handle measures just under 5-1/2" in height and is 3" at its widest. This would most likely have been the handle to an important vessel used during Bacchic (Dionysiac) revels. This is a heavy, substantial piece of very high quality.
