A Northern Chinese black ware dish; Jin to Yuan dynasty. Probably from Henan province. Overall covered in a dark glaze which terminates to the exterior well above the foot. The interior of the dish was fully glazed, then a ring wiped clean for stacking purposes. The dish is decorated to the interior with five evenly spaced splashes of iron-oxide; which have fired reddish brown. In good condition. Diameter 16.8 cm

Porcelain cup with curved sides, with a hand painted blue decor on a white background representing a landscape showing on the left side a rocky lakeshore with two old men sitting under a gnarled tree, and the right side a fisherman rowing on a boat. Above the scenery, a four line inscription. Two character mark beneath. The rim is protected by a bronze circle, but this is not meant to hide any blemish. China, Qing Dynasty. Height: 3,3 cm. Diameter: 11,4 cm. Very good condition.

Nice Kobalt blue, very nice smooth glaze. Ming Dynasty Wanli period ( 1573 - 1620 ) Jingdezhen ware. Diameter : 16,5 cm. H : 17,9 cm. Condition : There is one crack to the neck towards the rim and another crack to the body of the Kendi. Since both cracks seem to be very old both cracks do not desturb the nice appearance of the piece. ( Please have a look at the enlargements )

Porcelain vase of bulbous body and elongated neck, with a hand painted decor in blue over a white background representing a phoenix in clouds. China, Qing Dynasty, early 19th century or earlier. Height: 18,4 cm. Tiny chips around the rim and base, otherwise very good condition.

Ming Chenghua peiod ( 1465 - 1487 ) extremely nice decorated with three different kind of fish among water-plants. Diameter : 9,6 cm. H : 5 cm. Condition : broken and unprofessionally re-glued. This re- glue is easy to open again and this extremely nice and rare piece would it be worth to do a professional repair to it.

The quality of this small elephant is excellent. Standing foursquare with head turned to one side. The body and the separately cast reliquary - monstrance inlaid, brightly enameled, multi coloured and richly ornamented. Nineteenth century or a little bit earlier. L : 14,8 cm. H : 19,4 cm Condition : Excellent with no damage. The reliquary - monstrance incomplete ( please see the last enlargement ).

Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Bowl (Hongzhi)

This blue and white porcelain bowl with flared rim was made during the late 15th - early 16th century (Hongzhi reign 1488 – 1505). The outer wall is decorated in underglaze blue with a honeycomb pattern. The central decoration is loosely based on a vajra (Buddhist sceptre) with various other decorations around the inner wall. It is coated in a finely-crackled glaze.

Pair of Chinese export Canton tea caddies in hexagonal form, blue and white with traditional landscape and geometric banding, 6 carved feet, glazed bottoms, original lids. Measure 5" wide, 6 1/4" high and 3" deep, slight variation in sizes and shapes. Surface of caddies is slightly dimpled with the "orange peel" appearance to the glaze, all decoration in under glaze blue. This pottery bowl, or jar, was made over 4,000 years ago during the Machang Phase (c. 2300 - 2000 BC) of the Majiayao culture, also known as the Gansu-Yangshao culture, from present day Gansu or Qinghai province. It is made from a pale yellowish-brown pottery and is more highly-fired than most known examples...

During the Qing Dynasty, the feathers of the kingfisher bird were used to create ornaments for woman to attach to clothing and/or wear in their hair... Through the 1800's These ornaments were made and formed with heavy paper (light weight cardboard...) A matched pair of Chinese paintings of exotic fruits. Body colour on pith surface. Mounted with gold speckled Chinese papers and framed beneath rigid plastic sheet. A thinly, very well potted porcelain body with a high quality underglaze blue decoration. The cobalt blue excellent. This marked Ming Minyao ( peoplesware ) bowl shows a nearly imperial quality. Jiajing period ( 1522 - 1566 ) Jingdezhen ware. Diameter : 12,1 cm. H : 6,4 cm. Condition : One glaze chip to the rim and one chip to the unglazed foorting. Very nice tone when tapped.

A thinly potted porcelain bowl, brilliantly enamelled. Famille Rose, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period ( 1736 - 1795 ). Diameter : 14,2 cm. H : 7,2 cm. Condition : One very minute rim frit ( 0,5 mm ) and a short hairline, nearly invisible to the naked eye ( there still is a nice "ping-tone" when the bowl is tapped ).

The monk Budhai, also known as the Laughing Buddha, is an incarnation of the Bodhisattva Maitreya, the Buddha predicted to succeed Gautama Buddha in the future. The rotund deity carved with a broad smiling face seated with his left leg tucked under his ample protruding belly, the right leg drawn up, the shoulders and extremities draped in a wide flowing robe. Unusual grey pottery jar from the syncretic Buddhist Dali Kingdom circa 982CE–1253CE, which was located in present day Yunnan. The Dali State was not fully absorbed into the Chinese Empire until the Ming Dynasty, although it did accept Mongol control and were by and large allowed to manage their own affairs as long as they contributed soldiers.
