A lovely Chinese hat stand featuring a pair of birds and painted in the Qianjiang style using soft pastel enamels. Qianjiang enamel paintings are getting harder to find and this one is in excellent original condition, no chips, no hairlines, no cracks. It measures 11 inches high x 4.75" diameter.
A Chinese porcelain vase decorated with flowers and butterfly and other motifs in famille rose enamel. This is a rare example which demonstrates the earliest famille rose decoration on Chinese porcelains. Early 18th century - late Kangxi to Yongzheng period. Conditions: A hairline (1") from top to the shoulder of the vase; a very tiny flake at the bottom near the foot rim. Height: 7-1/2".
A very attractive Chinese stoneware jar with a wide ribbed body. Hand crafted with a dark celadon glaze, the inside which is brown is also glazed, can hold liquids, and can be used as a vase. This is an 18th or 19th century Chinese brown glazed and carved porcelain brush holder (Bitong) signed by “Wang Bing Rong” who is considered one of the best porcelain carvers of that period. A black pottery inks-tone was a rare survivor of scholar items from ancient time.
With characteristic image of a toad, the ink-stone was assembled by a cover and a basin.
Vividly it was depicted on the surface with toad's skin when old adhesives were preserved within the pleats.
One old chip was found on the side of the cover.

A Chinese box of grey celadon jade and rectangular shape with rounded corners. The body is very thinly carved , resembling the Mughal manner and the cover is delicately incised with a bird in a tree. A small brush holder made of Nanmu (Phoebe zhennan). Nanmu was very valuable in Ming and Qing Dynasty, only the royal family could use it. This brush holder was made in late Qing Dynasty or early Republic period. It is in good condition, with one age crack (1-5/8" long) from the bottom up. Diameter: 4-1/8"; height: 4-1/2".
