Guanyu is shown here in full military garb, with helmet and armor, sitting on an elevated throne. Votive box at the back, still closed. Wood, with remnants of superimposed painting, lacquering and gilding. China, 19th century. Height: 24.7 cm. Painting and lacquering partly flaked, otherwise very good condition.

This signed and dated Guang Xu period (1875~1908) plate is 2 inches high and 8 ¼ inches in diameter. It has a cloud and wave pattern over a bright yellow background inside the plate; the four characters mean¡± long life without limit.¡± On the outside of the plate, there are three groups of flowers. This late 19th century Chinese garlic head vase is 6 ¼ inches tall and 3 ½ inches at the widest part. There are two pictures on the lower body of the vase, the rest of vase is covered with a flower and leaf design. One scene depicts a young man riding on a boat to meet a lady who is waiting for him near a river. Another scene depicts a child and a crane in front of a hut which fronts a lotus pond. The buddha has a serene and meditating expression. The statue is hollow inside.
