A rare Chinese Sancai ewer from the Tang Dynasty (618-907), featuring a rounded shape with a dual strap handle and spout.

The ewer is adorned with a variegated sancai glaze, displaying hues of amber and green set against a cream background. It stands at a height of 9.5 cm and spans 15 cm in width.

The overall condition is excellent, with only a minor glaze chip observed at the bottom edge of the spout.

Chines Cinnabar Lacquer Box with Landscape Scene, 18/19th Century

It is 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) tall by 6.3 inches (16.2 cm) wide. It is 1 lb.

A Very rare small vase with elegant shaped and molded incised of three goats to the body. Covered overall with golden celadon glazed. Condition is good, no any chips, no any crack and free from any restoration. Five Dynasties -- Northern Song Period. Height: 7cm

Chinese white jade vase carving of Liu Haichan or "Master Sea-Toad", a 10th century Daoist xian immortal, with a string of square-holed coins and his mythical three-legged money toad. Lotus pods, peonies, birds, and waves are carved all around the body of the jade vase. The base is carved wood into reticulated root pattern.

Cast bronze turtle shown standing on its 4 legs, part of its shell gilded with mercury. Well finish, very detailed carving. Beautiful old patina. 19th century.Qing or Edo. Probably used as a weight to hold the painters of the scholars. Long: about 11cm 4 inches Fine condition but the end of the tail broken.

Antique Chinese ladies shoes made of silk and embroidered with flowers and butterflies. These shoes were worn during the 19th century by someone who would have had their feet bound in the lily style. Qing Dynasty. 19th century.

Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery Chest (16th Century)

A pottery model of a hinged chest made during the 16th century (c.1550 - 1600). Made from a hard creamy-white pottery and coated in green and golden-yellow glazes that have, in places, acquired a silvery iridescence, a result of very long exposure to moisture.

Length 14 cm, height 11 cm. "Calcified" burial deposits in places and a couple of small chips at the corners. No sign of restoration or repair...

This jade carving depicts two dragons, seated back to back and is, as best I can tell, the real deal. Not only are there no signs whatsoever of modern tooling, but each of the holes at the snout has been drilled from both sides, using a conical bit. The jade itself does not lie 100% flat, which would be another "telltale" of modern production. Instead, it is slightly curved...

A larger than average ovoid jar (without cover) profusely decorated with Famille Rose enamels depicting stylized lotus scrolls enclosing two large panels and two small peach shaped panels. The panels are painted with peony, lotus and other flowers; one panel depicts an egret amongst water plants. Statue of Taoist dignitary, in formal attire, his hands joined together, standing on a square base. The dignitary face reflects a profound inner serenity. Bronze, partly encrusted green patina. DESCRIPTION: A red and gilt ink cake in the form of a turtle with a curled snake on its back. In ancient China, the tortoise and the snake were thought to be spiritual creatures symbolizing longevity. Both the front and back have been finely pressed in raised relief with gilt accents. One of the treasures of the Chinese scholar’s studio, this ink cake is in excellent condition, in its original box, and dates from the first quarter of the 20th C. or earlier. DIMENSIONS: 3” long (7.7 cm).

Up for sale is this heavy gilt bronze statue of a seated Guan Yin from the 19th. century.

She is showing the Abhaya Mudra.

The statue is more the ten (10!!) kg heavy, made from solid bronze. It has been exhibited in our family collection since 1950.

Hand polished bronze in perfect condition, with some old age wears.
