These 3 small oil lamps were brought back to the US by a Baptist missionary who lived and traveled extensively throughout China. Oil lamps like these were used for light source extensively throughout rural China by poor peasants. Simply made, presumed cut from scraps of tin and soldered into shape.. the lids come off for filling with oil and some original home made wicks remain in place. The tallest is 5 inches high...

Over 110 years old Chinese Buddha head mounted on a high class wood base.

It is made of fine natural stone and has a nice patina. This mounted statue is part of the Van Norten Collection since 60 years and has been exhibited in our private house since then. Wonderful, age related condition.

An interesting Chinese porcelain spoon heavily decorated in bright famille rose enamels, principally blue, green and puce inset with an Urdu inscription to the centre of the bowl indicating that it formed part of a service made for the Nawab Feizsalar and Begum Sahibe in 1824. Shop mark to the underside of the bowl in underglaze blue. In good condition, some minute rim frits, no cracks, chips or restoration. It measures 11.7cm in length.

A large and magnificent pair of Chinese fu lions ready to guard your home and protect you from evil spirits. The hand-carved foo dogs are solid wood and sit on platforms or separate bases that not solid. The male foo dog has a decorative ball under his left paw while the female dog has a playful pup lying on its back under her right paw. The dogs are in very good antique condition with normal wear and surface cracks expected with wood carvings of this age and size...

Chinese Han Dynasty (206 B.C. - A.D. 220) bronze lidded censor, round form, on three legs, incised characters on both front and back sides, handles on either side, beautiful patina, sits on beautifully carved hardwood stand made later during the 19th century. Total size: 6 3/4" high x 8 1/4" wide including handles. Bronze alone is 6 1/4" high

This is an old traditional style top shirt which would have been worn by a young girl of the Yi Chinese ethnic minority from Yunnan Province. the fabric is made from home grown cotton, hand spun, and hand woven. The collar surround and cuffs are trimmed with an intricate batik pattern and the tiniest embroidery stitched I have ever seen. The shirt has its original buttons. Good size for framing 14 inches across the chest.

A quite large perfect potted jarlet, glazed with an nice bluegreen "Guan" glaze. The piece is very decorative because of the color of the Celadon glaze and the striking and unusual deep crackles in the glaze ( please look at the enlargements ) Song - Yuan Dynasty, Longquan ware. A very rare scroll weight resp. paper weight made from glass and painted with a very pleasing romantic landscape . This painting is done in a typical Qianlong manner on a opaque white glaze and is covered with a thick layer of transparent glaze. A rare ovoid vase on high flaring foot painted in shades of underglaze blue and made in China for export to Europe during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). Condition: there is "fritting" (production glaze loss) to the base (please view enlargements) and there are very minor glaze imperfections; there are no cracks and there has been no restoration. 14.5cm (5.7inches) high.

Chinese Canton Enamel Small Plate decorated with a stylised Lotus scroll. The reverse with fruit and flowers. Gilt rim and foot. 18thC. Dia. 7 1/4" (18.5cm). Condition: usual stress lines, small chip 0.5cm to rim, slight wear to gilding.

Pair of Rare Famille Rose plates attractively decorated with Twin Boys. C1735/45. Dia.8 3/4" (22.3cm). Condition: first plate with some flaking to enamels and 0.35cm shallow flake to underside of rim. Second plate with 3.2 cm hairline crack to rim and 0.5cm bruise to underside of rim.

The body of the bowl is covered with a thick greenish-creamy-grey glaze whose surface appears like old polished marble. The crackles in the glaze are very attractive. Most probably Ming Dynasty, sixteenth century or earlier. Diameter : 14,6 cm. H : 7,2 cm. Condition : Perfect.

A rare early Ming 15th century Xuande - Interregnum period blue and white large stem bowl, outer wall with under glaze blue human (official) and landscape motif, inner center with sitting official motif, good condition with small damage at the rim and associate hairline restored, size: 16.5 cm diameter, 10 cm height.
