One of the most uniquely designed cloisonne round boxes that I ever came across; this is so well done and is absolutely gorgeous, it is very well designed and intricate in the smallest details, the patina is a very lovely chocolate brown patina that is unretouched. Antiques are considered a sound investment in these troubled times, and can be used for barter and will not lose their value as stocks do. Two nicely matched Edo period mixed metal menuki. Each with decoration of a duck in water. Some difference in the detailing of the water and perhaps different duck species (though one could explain the lack of a crest and color on one because it was the female of a pair of mandarin wood ducks.) For the price, they would work quite well together on a tsuka (sword hilt.) Longer one, about 1 1/2 inches. Good condition.

This is cotton Furosiki used in Kyoto in the Edo era. It is thick, and this is good cotton of a good texture . This is dyed with an artistic portrait of a lion and Katazome of the peony pattern and a brown plain fabric. There is small holes and damage ,thin stains. However, the condition is good generally. Early 19th century Edo period Japanese sword bronze kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with inlaid gold and silver decoration of various form of character FUKU (happiness). Wonderful design in Japanese taste, beautifully made piece, in great condition. Length 1.37 inches.

A pair of Imari cups, scalloped rims and decoration of reserves with landscapes and calligraphy in underglaze blue and little berries or dots in overglaze red. Japanese, Edo around 1860, shop mark in underglaze blue. Height "2 ½/ 6.2 cm, diameter "3 ¼ / 8.3 cm. Condition: fine.

The size of Bowl: 6" Dia x 1 3/4" High. Nice Japanese Ko Imari sometsuke Bowl. The bowl is made from nice quality porcelain which was molded in the design of Shippo at the rim area. It has sometsuke decoration of Yoraku and landscape design in the center. Back has leaf design. The condition of bowl is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. One little Kamahi line at the edge 3 o'clock but it is in the glazing. One gosu blue spot at the edge, 7 o'clock...

The dish has an unusual square form with indented corners and a raised almost vertical rim which suggests that it was probably intended to be used for the serving of sashimi, sliced raw fish. This type of dish is described in Japanese as a shihou-sumioshi sara. By the late Mid Edo period sashimi had been growing in popularity being prepared by professional chefs, and was served both in aristocratic and in wealthy households and Ryokan...

Beni-itajime-zome (board-clamped dyeing with safflower) han-juban (short under kimono). The body part is hand-spun cotton and the sleeves are figured silk and the wrist parts are wool muslin. In good condition but the dirty line in the neck, rips in the front sleeve and some moth holes in the wrists. Late 19th to early 20th century. 125cm x 66cm

19th century Edo period Japanese kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with relief depiction of a crane in flight over pine saplings, all on a finely punched ground texture called nanako, which means “fish-eggs” as it resembles fine rows of caviar. Wonderful crisp metalwork, some worn gilding, in great condition. Length 1 1/4 inches.

This is the kimono which a girl wore for the Taisho era period. The pattern is ball and Spinning top and others. A color is pretty, and this is stylish. There are 2.3 places of small stains, but does not stand out. There is no damage. Size 92cm x 81cm (36.2 "x 31.8")

Tall Eboshi-shaped fire hood for a samurai, made of hand-spun cotton, both outside and inside, and dyed with vegetable indigo. In Edo period, the town of Edo often suffered from massive fires, so that "machi hikeshi" by town people as well as "samurai hikeshi" were organized. This hood was worn by a samurai together with samurai fire costume when the fire broke out. In good condition except for slight dirt in the top part. The piping is silk. 19th century. W:53cm, L:69cm

Japanese antique beautiful Patterns of bream & bamboo tsutsugaki indigo dye cotton furoshiki textile taisyo era(1912-1926).There are a few thin stains and several small holes.They are not disturbing, and as a whole it is in very good condition. size:Length 112cm (44.0inch) width 110cm (43.3inch)

The bowl has the unusual design of archer sitting at the front of Japanese house with wave design. Arrow hit dead eye center. There are two sections divided by gold decoration of dragon with flower design around. The condition of bowl excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline...

This is a child kimono worn in the Taisho era. As for this, thin silk expresses a pattern in Shibori. Thin cotton is in this for thermal insulation inside. This does not have a stain and damage. The state is very good. Size 78cm x 70cm (30.7 "x 27.5")

An Arita abalone (Mother of Pearl) shaped dish painted in somenishikide style with a stylised landscape of Mountainous Islands, a shoreline with rocky outcrops with various trees including Pine, flowers and grasses with a rather peculiar and precarious structure in the foreground seemingly lacking several posts in its construction. The reverse decorated with landscape vignettes to the reverse and a six character mark for the Chinese Emperor Qianlong...
