Late Meiji (1890s to 1910s) bone obidome (sash ornament) carved as a pair of swimming carp. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Clever design, good quality carving, nice finish and patina, two metal fittings on the back for an obi cord. Length 2.95 inches.

Table screen composed of four cloisonné panels worked in the ginbari technique with translucent enamels on a red background decorated with polychrome irises. Stag horn netsuke depicting a Gama Sennin, a legendary figure of Japanese folklore, with a toad on his shoulder. Gama Sennin is represented in a pose with his left hand holding the hind leg of the toad, while the latter rests on his shoulders. Origin: Japan Period: Edo 19th century Dimensions: 5 x 2.3 x 2.2cm. This is a wonderful Meiji Era Satsuma tray from Seikozan. The detail is outstanding but the condition is even better. The condition of this piece is pristine and like new or the day it left the workshop. In fact, this piece is the finest preserved example of Meiji era Satsuma we have ever had. Ironically, we found a small factory repair to one of the corners. We ran tests and it is absolutely a gold covered Seikozan factory repair (See last image).

Ryusa Manju type ivory netsuke with openwork decoration and in the center a shishi, a Japanese mythological creature representing a lion or a lion dog, looking backwards. The frame around the Shishi features an accurate karakusa 唐草 decoration, a motif of stylized branches and leaves of Chinese origin. Antique Japanese beige ceramic crackleware satsuma pilgrim vase, Meiji period 1868-1912. It is beautifully painted with two different scenes. The front and reverse are painted with a wheat plant in a field of chrysanthemums. The sides have cherry blossoms blooming in a stylized wave pattern. The mouth of the vase is square shaped, the base is rectangular. It measures 10" tall, 7.25" widest 2" deep.

Japanese Satsuma Earthenware Koro, Incense Burner, on Tripod feet and two(2) Elephant Handles, signed "Senzan", Ca. Meiji period 1910, 5" high include Foo Dog top, 6 1/4" wide include 2 handles, ladies and Gentlemen in Japanese traditional clothes within several circles between multiple bands of flowers, Gold Foo Lion knob and 3 heart shape openings on top. The condition is good except tiny frit inside the rim on the bottom piece.

This is a fine Japanese Satsuma sake pot or small teapot. It is signed by Kinkozan. It measures 4 1/2 inches across at the spout. The handle is slightly tattered but the pot is in excellent condition.
