A simple yet refined bamboo sago or a scoop used to gather tea leaves from the tea jar. The top contains a carving of scholar rocks set among small bamboo and a small tree with slight foliage. A small metel bound six drawer black lacquered cabinet finely painted in gold lacquer . Three drawers are decorated with a branch of flowering prunus blossom and the large drawer and door are each painted with a single duck amongst reeds and iris. Hand made more than hundred years ago in Iga, a small tow in the mountains of Mie prefecture, famous as the birthplace of Iga ninja.

Iga-yaki is a style of pottery where the ceramic is fired at high temperatures causing it to crystallize in a red hue, with brown-grey burn marks caused by log ashes, and the melting effect of the vidro (feldspatic glass)...

A pair of cobalt blue glazed Sake cups with hexagonal notched rims. Each cup is decorated in gilt with a pair of Hollander figures preforming martial exercises with Halberds. The cups date to around 1780 and the Meiwa era. The cups measure 7.5cm or 3 inches in diameter, and stand 5cm or 2 inches high, and are in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration, save for one minute rim frit to one of the cups.
