The medallion decorated with the head of a satyr with wild locks and curled heavy beard. The face shows a fleshy nose, full lips and wide open eyes topped by marked eyebrows. The bold head with fine floccus. Goat-like ears.
Satyrs and silens were a very popular subject in the decoration of gutti.
The head is from the same mold as inv. no. 20187 in the Bari Archaeological Museum, cf. fig. no. 81 (T84) in: Fernando Gilotta. Gutti e askoi a rilievo italioti ed etruschi...

Chinese antique celadon vase, carved with flowers and scrolling leaves. Lovely traditional celadon color glaze. Later addition of decorative silver overlay around mouth and shoulders and also a silver ring around the foot of the vase.

A Korean Beautiful Blue-Tinged White Porcelain High Footed Bowl-19th C: Korea,Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The bowl applied with a beautiful light blue-tinged white glaze with warm and clear glaze evenly overall, set on a slightly flared high ring foot and with slightly everted mouth rim, its base glazed in white glaze but a foot rim unglazed. It’s in good condition but a small chip on its foot rim, it measures approximately 5.5” d. x 3.75” h. (14cm x 9.5cm),

This is a thinly potted bowl depicting the Buddhist's eight auspicious signs which is found on the sole of Buddha's feet. They are the mystic knot, fish, wheel of the law, lotus, canopy, unbrella, conch shell and the jar. The bowl stand on a short recessed foot-rim and into a U-shaped body. At the base of foot-rim, it has the honorific four character seal mark of Qianglong reign. Cir. second half 19th century, possibly from Tongzhi period.

The bowl is in good condition...

A Very Fine Korean Blue and White Square Shape Water Dropper-19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The rectangular slab-sided water dropper set on four raised feet, decorated in underglaze blue and white with a Han River scene in two bird flying, the sides with stylized floral design in square beneath a clear white glaze. Kiln grit on the base. It’s in good condition with no chips in water spout or corner but has a short hair line cracks on the sides...

This is a beautifully detailed Japanese lacquer screen with exceptional quality Maki-e work used to highlight the details. The front depicts a landscape shore scene, complete with a crab stretching upward, a monkey after the fruit in the tree, and the makers signature. The rear has 3 cranes in flight.

Excellent condition, no loses. 7 inches high and 9.5 wide including the stand.

A rare and attractive early Egyptian vessel / beaker, dating to the Old Kingdom, 2649 - 2150 BC.

The conical beaker with a wide flat rim and craved in finely banded alabaster.

Size: 68 mm. tall. and 62 mm. wide over the rim.

Condition: Very fine for the very rare type, with small chip to the rim restored.

Ex. Old German collection, aquired 1960s-1970s.

A rare and quite attractive set of two knives and a sicle type of cutter (3), knapped in finely patinated Silex, Egyptian stoneage / Neolithic period, 5200 - 4000 BC.

These comes from an old French collection and the two knives with tags in white and black ink giving the finding place to 'Fayoum' and 'Le Fayoum' - a region just south of Cairo, close to the Nile.

Rarely seen and a must for collectors of Egypt antiquities.

Arguably the most desirable pottery sculpture from the Tang Dynasty is the female courtier, or "fat lady". This figure was made around the mid 8th century and is a particularly elegant example. This is a 19th century famille jaune brush pot with butterfly and watermelon motive incised with a feathery wave like yellow background. The butterfly symbolizes joy and felicity or to the effect meaning longevity. As for the watermelon, it does not hold any symbolic meaning. The nearest fruit that it can be compared to, is the pomegranate, because it has many seeds symbolizing offspring and posterity. This combine with the butterfly becomes very meaningful...

Chinese Qing dynasty celadon vase. 37,5 cm high. Vase have single hairline (please see on the pictures) Free from any repair.

This is a qingpai ewer or jug from the Song Dynasty. The qingapi ewer is of sea greenish hue. It stands on a recess 2 tier base with a curving body of a baluster or bulbous shape extending towards a flatten shoulder and then a mildy everted neck and mouth. The body is also lightly incised with some form of design. This is a shipwreck item.

The qingpai ewer is in good condition. There is no repair or restoration...
