Antique pair of Japanese stirrups (Abumi), from late Edo or Meiji Eras, of iron with black lacquer finish, lacquer red interiors, lacquer with iridescent shell pieces (lac burgautte), they are authentic and early examples of this fine form. Measure 11 3/4" long, 10 1/4" high and 5 3/8" wide. The curved bottom is roughly 19" to the point where vertical section is attached. The entire exterior of the stirrups is covered with black lacquer, and the edges contain the lac burgautte decoration...

A large Chinese snuff bottle of elegant shape, worked in cloisonne enamel on copper, with gilt rims and wires. The stopper is made en suite, with bone spoon. Both sides with a cartouche showing flowers, sourrounded by lotus scrolls. Condition: traces of usage, especially the lower part with verdigris. A Korean, buncheong, white glazed bowl; C15-16th, Joseon dynasty. The bowl is covered with white slip to it's interior; the slip terminates short of the foot. The whole was then covered in a clear glaze, which shows a green-blue colour where it has pooled. Five stacking support marks may be seen to the interior of the bowl. Polished layered-lacquer lozenges are inlayed into the surface of this fabulous Art-Deco era vase by important Japanese Bronze artist Yamamoto Junmin.
