Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Double Happiness Brush Washer, Ca. 1900-1920, 3 3/4" high, 4" wide-widest middle part, 2 1/8" diameter-top rim, with underglaze Pea Flowers within scrolling vines and leaves done in very fine brush strokes, two(2) dark blue Double Happiness Characters on both sides. Stained small frit about 1/4" wide on the unglazed bottom rim, and Wax Seal for the Export purpose on the bottom, one(1) tiny frit on the side of the top rim.
A delicately painted earthenware Satsuma dish depicting pagodas and blossoming trees in a rocky mountain landscape. The base could be signed "Sozan". This item was made in japan during the Meiji period (1868-1911). Condition - there is a little scratching and what appears to be a minor surface blemish in one small area (please see enlargement 5)- no chips, cracks or restoration...

19th century buffalo horn ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved in a shape of a ginkgo leaf with stem. Elegant design in Japanese taste, clever use of light and dark colored horn, nice patina. Length 11/16 inches.
Japanese Blue and White Transfer ware Porcelain Square cut corner deep Platter, 12" square, 1 1/2" high, pine tree, mountain and river design in the center, and two different shade of transfer blue design of trees, foliage and butterflies on the wide border. One shallow flake chip 3/4" wide underneath the rim and some old frits on the corner of the dish, and scratches in the glaze on top of the dish.
Chinese green glazed noodle making bowl, 5" high-maximum height, 8" diameter-top, green glazed, early part of 1900's. This is the bowl making home made noodle in the kitchen. Push the dough into the holes, and become instant noodle coming out of the holes. Incised Chinese Character mark on the bottom "Great". No major damages, there are some wear and tear from the use in the kitchen for many years.
Chinese Song Dynasty black glazed Pottery Jar, 13th to 14th century, 3 1/2" high, 5" wide-widest part in the middle, 2 7/8" diameter-top rim, with dark brownish black glaze. The unglazed bottom section is rounded and smooth and has incised small marks and drawings-see photos. there are few frits on the bottom.
This is a finely carved and lacquered wood Ojime in the form of a Daruma Toy or "Okiagari Koboshi", meaning the little priest that gets up. The center cord hole or himotoshi are lined with shakudo or copper and gold alloy. Signed Hoshin in the back of the Daruma.
Ojime measures 0.63 inches (1.6cm) in diameter, and 0.80 inches (2.0cm) tall. It is in excellent condition as may be seen in the posted photos.

Condition: Intact with red and bronze patinas, with some glucerin stains and dirt deposits, probably from use - uncleaned.

1890s - 1910s (late Meiji - early Taisho) Japanese inkstone in simple rectangular shape with carved keyfret border and central grinding area. Used for grinding of an inkstick on the surface of the stone. Akama stone of shiunseki type with characteristic reddish brown color - Akama inkstones are quite famous, and come from the Yamaguchi Prefecture.
