Antique Japanese large bronze vase in the form of a round lotus leaf. It sits on top of a smaller lotus leaf on a hexagonal base. Each side of the base has birds in relief flying over waves. Likely from a Buddhist temple. The lotus blooming from out of the mud represents enlightenment.

Slightly distorted cylinder shaped (tsuzu) tea bowl with straight walls, made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife around the foot ring.

The bowl was partly covered with black iron oxide glaze of the non glossy type (preferable!) and then covered with a black glaze in the style of a Seto-guro bowl. On the other half it is decorated with two oxcart wheels...

It is 10.23 inches (26 cm) tall by 10.63 inches (27 cm) in length. It is 1.85 lb.

It is tarnished and has oxidation, warped and small cracks at the board, missing mother of pearls and inlays, small chips to the inlays, stains, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).
