Large 1920's Japanese Sumida Gawa Ware Relief Buddhist Monk Vase Marked Sukari Fuji

It is 24.2 inches (61.47 cm) tall.

It has been repaired (replaced and repainted at various areas - with red circles). It also has small chips, rubbing of paint, glaze crazing, glaze cracks, cracks, firing cracks, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

Chinese Blackwood and Mottled gray Natural Marble top round Stool/table, later part of 1800's, 18" high, 13" diameter, carved Chinese motif on the apron, X stretcher under the marble top and connect to the curved legs, also stretchers are connected to the legs in the lower part, some joint separation in the wood and small area about 1/2" x 1" long area of the one side of the marble was patched by some kind of clay, no nails were used. This stool is heavy and solid piece of furniture.

A hollow mould-made Indus Valley red terracotta statuette modelled in a stylised manner with applied facial features of birdlike form. Also with applied arms to the cone-shaped body. She is folding her hands as if in prayer in front of her breast.

Both poems are signed by the same calligrapher. This item carries the reign mark of the Tongzhi emperor (1862 - 1874)but was probably made a little later during the Guangxu reign (1875-1908). An antique Japanese Kansai Mizuya Tansu in 2 sections made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Keyaki (Zelkova) woods. Upper section features two sets of sliding doors with a set of 5 side by side drawers. Bottom section has 2 large sliding doors that open to a spacious storage area behind. Constructed using Japanese mortise and tenon joinery. Drawer handles are Hikute style made of hand forged iron.

Age: Meiji Era (1890-1900).
