Such fused-rod beads represent one of the high points of Islamic glass-making, and this is one of the best examples on the market. It is manufactured from combed mosaic canes of white, red, yellow and green, into which three vertical panels each composed of four eyes have been set. Each eye has three concentric layers of black and white, red, and yellow. Though only a few of these beads have been found in Fustat itself, they were exported very widely and are found from West Africa to Indonesia...

Jizo is one of the most beloved Buddhist Boddhisatva in Japan as a guardian of children and travellers. Sado Island in Niigata Prefecture was once ringed with Jizo statues, and its granite quarries made it a center of religious statue production and sales. This Jizo holds his hands in front of his chest in prayer, or in the traditional Indian greeting of "namaste." The Yoshidaya kiln was a short-lived venture, situated in Yamashiro, intended to revive earlier Kutani-style wares. The founding investor was Toyota Denuemon IV (aka Sekio, lived 1751-1827), a businessman who used the professional name Yoshidaya. He chose not to situate his kiln in Kutani because of the site's remote location, but his wares emulate the earlier Kutani wares in a variety of ways...

A rare and unusual 18th Century Gu form copper vase decorated with flower scrolls in bright famille rose enamels against a blue ground. The central copper section is engraved with three archaic style Taotie masks. This item was made in China during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). Condition - excellent - there are some stress marks to the white enamel inside the rim but, unusually no damages and losses and no restoration...

Lovely small meiping from Northern China, circa 1000CE- possibly Liao.. I have repaired it with epoxy and 23k gold leaf (wabi sabi kintsugi).
