Composite panel of antique Ottoman embroideries, made into a rectangular shaped woman’s prayer cloth indicating qibla, the direction of prayer. Made in the Ottoman city of Salonika or Kavala. The basic fabrics are different plain weaves, embroidered with silk and silver wrapped threads, crocheted together. Two patches with a kind of floral needle weaving. Bordered with a green ribbon and later lining. Condition: stained and flawed areas, missing threads, faded. Dimension: 159.5 cm x 98 cm.

A rare, Chinese, lacquer box from the Western Han dynasty.
The box is overall lacquered in brown with painted bands of decoration to the body, and concentric circles enclosing a central cloud scroll motif to the lid.

A rare Chinese double snuff bottle made of porcelain, painted in underglaze blue with lotus flowers on white background surrounded of a cream-colored crackled glaze. The stoppers made of agate-imitating glass with bone spoons. Condition: traces of usage. Dimension: c. 5.3 x 4.1 cm.
A scarce and nicely formed bronze netsuke. The sculptural group depicts festival musicians playing a Taiko drum and Shinobue flute - the drum player with mask pulled back. Nicely detailed, down to the fingers and expressions of the musicians. The himotoshi is formed by the extended arm of one figure supporting the figure atop the Taiko. Edo period, 19th century. Good condition with rich, natural patina. Height, 1 5/8 inches
Chinese Qing (Kangxi or Yongzheng) Dynasty deep cobalt blue under-glaze snuff bottle depicting a Dragon in the clouds and a smaller Dragon in the waves near the base. Wonderful shape, vivid colors with beautiful artistry. Unfortunately, there are several chips at the base and this piece is therefore priced accordingly. Cork stopper, no lid. Height 2.75 inches, width 1.5 inches.

DESCRIPTION: A nice old Chinese toggle carved from a striated wood in the form of two peaches. The peach is a symbol of longevity, and this thick toggle has a wonderful aged patina that only comes from age and handling. Strung with a cord through the holes under the stems, it would have hung from a sash and been used as a counterweight to a tobacco pouch or other utilitarian object. A fine and unusual Hizen-yaki, Kakiemon type, small foliate dish. Chocolate brown rim in iron oxide. Unusual blue and white decoration of a samurai with a young monk across the saddle on horseback - bow drawn to ward off pursuing Buddhist monk. This appears to depict one of many tales of old Japan - perhaps The Take of the Heike as relates to Minamoto Yoshitsune and the warrior monk Benkei. A reading of the kanji may shed light...
DESCRIPTION: A large, ten pronged tortoise shell comb made for the European market (Victorian era, circa 1880-1890). The fashion of the day included large elaborate combs placed in upswept hair, and this one is a real beauty! The curved prongs and scalloped crown are from a single piece of shell which is mounted with three large round beads and two carved triangular designs. Very good condition with only a couple of tiny nits that are difficult to even see...

A pre-roman figure from the Ancient Near or middle East, unresearched for culture.
The finial depicts a divine figure likely a god, bald-headed with fine facial features, halo behind. Rivet holes for attaching it to a shaft of bone or wood now lost.

A massive bronze figurine from the medieval period, Islamic, Seljuq Empire, 10th.-11th. century AD.
The lion stands erect on 4 legs and incised details of the mane and head. A particularly charming specimen with finely made features of the head of the Lion, heavy body and seperate legs. Would have been quite expensive in the medieval period with it's high weight of solid bronze and nice workmanship.
