A rare huanghuali scholar's box with it's original shiny varnish and original brass hardware. China, late Ming to early Qing, ca. 17th/18th century. Dimensions: L. 31 cm, W. 16 cm, H.10 cm. Condition: excellent original condition, only one brass loop at the front plate missing, a small piece of hardware on the lid missing and one of the wooden feet missing.

A very rare Yuan - Ming dynasty longquan celadon large vase, rounded side with globular body and unglazed base, celadon vase around the belly decorated with incised peony scroll motif, lower part with vertical ribbing, the trumpet part has been cut down and covered with metal mount, covered with nice bluish green tone celadon glaze.
Vase is in good condition with cut down neck and metal mounted.
Size: 48 cm height, and with wooden stand and cover would be 63 cm height.

Stunning large Antique Japanese ishidoro - stone temple garden lantern, carved all of granite in 6 sections. The lotus base is carved so that it is still connected to the natural rock. The lantern section is different than most ishidoro in that it's roof is rounded and does not have curling corners but instead is more mushroom like in form. The light box is hexagonal and is carved in relief. Edo/Meiji Period. Size: 66" high x 24" wide x 30" wide (at widest point of base).

Jizo is of one of the most beloved of Buddhist Boddhisatvas in Japan as a guardian of children and travellers.
