Antique Japanese two section Kannon Biraki tansu, made with Kiri (paulownia) wood, original red lacquer finish. The top section houses two large drawers behind a pair of double hinged doors. Decorations of iron hardware include a charming heart shaped lock within a single iron ring and strips of iron across the front of each door, with chrysanthemum shaped studs. The lower section also holds two drawers with iron locks, as well as a safe compartment in its bottom corner...
Antique Japanese cotton woven futon cover, dyed with a paste resist technique called Tsutsugaki on an indigo ground with the mythical creature Baku, devourer of dreams and nightmares and protector against evil. The Baku should not be summoned without caution, however, as ancient legends say that if he is not satisfied after consuming one's nightmares, he may instead devour their hopes and dreams.

A small, charming Korean single section cabinet. Three drawers with persimmon panels line the top of the cabinet, with a set of double doors below, on decorative iron hinges incised with sand dollars, and a central filigree edged lock. Within are two small drawers and a large open compartment. The very bottom of the piece has a front drop down lid with roomy open storage inside. The edges of the piece feature iron braces with floral motif studs...

Small screen of rectangular shape, with an engraved decor of foliage and flowers. Slightly mottled jade. The screen is resting on an elaborated wood stand. China, 19th century. Height of the screen: 8 cm. Total height including the stand: 12.5 cm. Very good condition.

This is one of the most fascinating and unique artifacts I have ever seen. The axe is 5 1/2" from top to bottom and the handle is 7". The handle has been broken off in antiquity at the end which is a plus for me because you can see the internal cross section of the wood. The haft is completely fossilized (84% calcium carbonate). The calcification of the wood is such that a species analysis could not be successfully performed on it, but it was determined that it was probably conifer...
Shell gorgets are among the rarest and most beautiful of prehistoric art objects encountered in the United States. Most have been found in the Southeastern United States and are associated with various cultures from Woodland through Late Mississippian.
This outstanding example is 4 7/8" long. It has no restoration or repair. It has beautiful patina. This one is the "Buffalo Style" which is the most elaborately decorated of the shell masks...
A charming porcelain figurine of Fukurokuju, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Fortune. Fukurokuju is the god of wisdom and longevity, and is easily recognized by characteristics such as his dramatic, elongated forward, his root wood cane, and the scroll he holds. He wears a beautiful, flowing robe with flying cranes accented by gilt outlines. The cranes are an attribute to Fukurokuju as they, too, are a symbol of longevity.

A large Korean porcelain jar, glazed in a transparent white with slight blue undertones. The upper body is rounded, with a short, flat rim and glazed interior. The lower body tapers down with a slightly fluting foot, left bare along the rim.
