Dramatic pair of large Chinese porcelain baluster form vases with green dragons, light green dragons on one side, dark green dragons on the other, a band of scrolling vines at the base, the necks are decorated with bats and clouds, the rim with birds and flowers, each has two blue dragon handles, Dao Guang 19th century. Chinese porcelain vase with a meiping form with iron red underglaze of three twisting dragons, with puffs of smoke and flame floating around them and rolling waves below. Antique two-section Keyaki wood tansu from the Fukushima region of Japan. It has a beautiful, warm woodgrain, iron warabite handles, with cherry blossom and leaf iron decorations above and below each handle, and a corner lockbox with a flower-shaped lock handle and ring pull with flower backing. 19th century Meiji Period. Size: 45" height, 41.75" width, 17.5" depth

This is a beautiful and unique Japanese Cloisonne box.The artist could have be one of at several but it looks like a piece from Inaba,Honda or Shibata. The box is about 50% larger than most boxes and has the same form as a Hayashi box I once had. The silk lining with the mums is exquisite. The box measures 6 inches by 4 1/4 inches and is 2 5/8 tall. The condition is excellent.

A 19th century celadon vase of robust globular shape, with a waisted neck to imitate the look of revolving vases. Against the molded celadon ground are enameled famille rose flower sprays, with a Prunus branch curious enameled to the base. Producing this vase would have required two separate firings...

Made of silk. Two panels with very fine embroidery of a dragon and a phoenix, with lots of gold thread. The other panels with simple flower patterns. Some of them with gilt brass bells at the bottom. Condition: expected age wear and discoloring, but overall in good condition. Dimensions ca 100x100 cm. Ca. late 19th century.
