My second belt buckle for the day, this is a completely different piece from the Los Castillo example I already presented. Hand-wrought in sterling silver it is big, bold and absolutely beautiful. Inspired by the world that surrounds us, it is just one of those treasures that defy my photographic skills and I am afraid I failed to impart the silky sculpturality of its heart-shaped floral motifs...

These gutsy vintage crouching tiger form cufflinks embody the beauty, grace, and power of the animal, feature nicely detailed tigers on toggle backs; Marked STERLING; Measuring 1 1/8 inch long by 5/8 inch high, Excellent vintage condition. Perfect gift for the tiger in your life!

Formed as parrots with flowing tails, with sharply molded detail. One clip mechanism is slightly loose, but both are in good working order, with a patent application number that dates to 1931. The backs bear the Los Castillo/Taxco/Made in Mexico marks, as well as the design number of 168A. Each bird measures 1 7/8 inches long by 1 3/8 inches at the widest part. Gross weight: 26.6g

A lightly hammered sterling silver bangle bracelet signed by the artist, 'RLC'.

Alternates between hammered and flattened sides.

Measures 2 1/4" across the diameter. Also measures about 7" around the inner circumference. Better for a small to medium wrist.

Marked with RLC and Sterling.

Nice weight and quality. Has a warm patina, a few areas of tarnish and minor surface scratches.

Fine work.

Decorated with circular engraved centers and white enamel Greek key borders. The bridge bars and connecting rings are in excellent condition. There are tiny spots of tarnish, especially around the embedded enamel. Marked sterling on the reverse; each button measures about ½ inch across. Weight: 5.9 grams total

Matching the brooch of the same design that it also available here (you can see the two pieces together in one of the photos here) this Los Castillo Mexican silver and copper ring is a rather rare find and I am happy to have come upon it. Weaving together the two metals in a chevron / arrow pattern, it is additionally embellished with tiny little sterling beads and has a visually interesting shank as well...

A vintage modernist bronze link bracelet by Pentti Sarpaneva. Measures about 7 3/8" around and 1 3/8" wide. Has a box push in closure which holds securely and a safety chain. Marked P. Sarpaneva on the back of the clasp. Nice contrast of dark and light surfaces. Fine condition, classic design. 1960's.

An attractive pair of gilt 800 silver double-faced cufflinks. The round faces are simply decorated with concentric rings bordering central gilt reserves. The faces are joined with the hinge bridge connectors more often seen in Scandinavian designs. The connectors are marked “800” and have an unidentified maker’s mark “EP” in a diamond-shaped punch.

Origin: Germany, ca. 1930. Condition: excellent, original gilding intact. Size: 9/16” diameter. Weight: 8.7 gr.

A Celtic sterling and enamel hammered sash pin brooch from 1946. This 2-1/8 x 2" fully hallmarked brooch features blue, orange and green enameled "stones". It has hallmarks for Chester, England 1946 and it was made by the Wayne Hart Co. (1945-) of Birmingham and Chester. It has a c-clasp and it weighs 11.2 grams. This item is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

A vintage modernist sterling silver pendant by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulti Oy, Turku Finland. A three dimensional design with overlapping flowers.

Measures about 1 5/8" across and 1 7/8" high including the bale. In very nice condition with a dark patina, we did not polish it.

Marked with the Anvil, and 925S on one side of the bale and Finland on the other side. Fine example of Kauppi's work.

A mid century modern necklace with a large pendant in pewter by Eivind Hillestad, Norway. Marked EH, and 79. Pendant has long segmented leaves. Measures 3 3/4" long to the top of the bale and 2" across. Chain is 32" long and slips over the head. In nice condition with some minor scratches. Cool mod design!

A Chinese cinnabar & enamel floral dress clip circa 1900. This nice quality antique 3-3/4" x 1" Chinese cinnabar and multicolour enamel floral dress clip features a filigree silver setting with a spring-hinged long dress clip clasp; it has a toothed rake at the end to hold it to the fabric. It may have originally been a brooch or some other decoration, these pieces were sometimes converted to dress clips after 1910, and the clip section doesn't appear to be added, but may have been...

Very large hand made modernist sterling snake ring by Novak, c.1970's. This ring is part of a one-of-a-kind collection by Novak, a modernist silversmith with original concepts and wonderful execution. The design shows a snake peering from a piece of crimped and folded silver and measures 1 3/8" long by 3/4" wide by 1" high. The thick band is 1/4" wide and is size 5 3/4/...

Mounted in a round, beaded silver gilt setting, the amber cabochons in these cuff links exhibit with a vivid honey color and some cloudiness. The cuff links bear the Soviet marks for .875 silver, as well as the town mark for Riga and an unidentified maker’s mark accompanied by the mark for 1957. They are securely hinged at one end of the bridge bar. The button portions measure 5/8 inch in diameter.

An Edwardian or Late Victorian 15k yellow gold 4 leaf clover brooch pin circa 1900. This pin has no gold stamp (and it tests as 15k). Measuring 1-3/8 x 9/16", it features a four leaf clover, it has a c-clasp and it weighs 2.7 grams. It has a star maker's mark and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs...

This bracelet was made by an unknown jeweler who produced a variety of pins and bracelets, often decorated with his signature applied calla lilies and gold-filled leaves. Each calla lily is hand-applied to a horizontal frame, alternating with vertical rectangular panels with a lightly hammered look. The connecting links are securely soldered; the safety chain is original and attaches with a spring ring...

Rectangular, with one side decorated with elaborate raised flower and scrolled leaves. The anchor button shows lengthwise ridges. The marks look to be European, but are as yet unidentified. The cuff links look hardly worn, with secure bridge bars and connecting rings. The larger buttons measure ¾ inch by ½ inch. Weight: 11.2 grams total

Lovely Art Deco quadruple strand necklace composed of white seed beads flanking two lapis lazuli hemispheres alternating with three rings of channel-set paste.

Origin: American, ca. 1925. Condition: excellent. Size: 15" long.
