An impressive Edwardian pendant featuring a large cabochon amethyst and diamonds set in platinum. The amethyst is pierced and set with a .25ct H/SI1 diamond and surrounded by a halo of small old European cut and rose cut diamonds. The bail is similarly set with rose cut diamonds. The pendant has a very dramatic appeal, yet the openness of the setting keeps it from being overpowering. Tested and guaranteed platinum (chain is silver).

Ca 1920 A stunning platinum and pearl ring with millegrain setting. There are twelve diamonds with a total carat weight of approximately 1.25 (ctw). The cream-colored cultured pearl measures 9mm. This beautiful unsigned ring has been attributed to Bernard Instone, one of the well-known Arts & Crafts era jewelers, who frequently didn’t sign his pieces. He often used leaves-as-prongs for setting stones, and as was often the way in the A&C movement, he didn’t use costly stones nor gold, so he could keep his prices affordable. Large by Western standards, this is actually the "childs" size version of this foo dog necklace worn by the Chinese Miao minority 70-90 years ago. Made of low grade silver, typical of Chinese jewelry of the time period, the intricate pendant is 5.5 inches across, 6.5 inches long and suspended from a long hand-made chain. These early 20th-century classic two-sided cuff links feature very fine and detailed engraving on the centers with edges of heavily embossed decoration. There is a 14K mark on the back of one of the buttons. The bridge links are very secure and nicely molded. Each button measures about 3/4 inch long by 1/2 inch wide. Weight: 5.1 grams.

This is typical fine work by Hobe. The leaves and bow are layered. The roses go a step further by having individual petals wrap to form a circle just as real roses do. The semi-triangular plaque with the rectangular bottom marked Hobe, sterling, 1/20 14k, indicates that this brooch is lovely older Hobe dating between 1918 and 1932. 3" long.1 1/2" wide. 1/2" deep.
