This ladies circular plaid pin with cairngorn stone is 1 7/8" in diameter. Excellent condition.

There are no hallmarks on the pin bit it has been tested silver. The pin has a c-clasp in working condition but it may not be original.

With hallmarks dating 1940-1945, this spectacular bracelet is a very rare and early creation from Los Castillo. It's a huge showpiece, with six rectangular faceted amethyst gemstone surrounded by tiny silver beading. The amethysts are great old Mexican stones, well matched in color, with quartz marbling and natural inclusions. Measures a closed, wearable length of 6 1/2", with a width of 1 9/16"...

Alberto Contreras Sr. was trained by master silversmith Frank Patania Sr. in the late 1940's and employed at the Patania Thuderbird Shop in Santa Fe. Their work was heavily influenced by the Native American jewelers that worked with them.
