Stunning vintage 1920s cherry amber Bakelite necklace with round translucent beads hand knotted with silk thread, in a continuous strand with no clasp. Tests positive for Bakelite with Simichrome. 146 grams. The beads are all 12 millimeters. 63 inches long and 1/2 inch wide. An elegant Art Deco platinum filigree ring centered by a .70 old European cut diamond mounted in an octagonal surround of caliber cut synthetic sapphires (typical of genuine Art Deco period rings). A lovely and very unusual 18K yellow gold, rock crystal, mother of pearl and aventurine glass ("goldstone") locket. The locket is constructed as a beveled oval frame of aventuring enclosing a pair of rock crystal windows, one of which opens to allow access to the inside of the locket. A mother-of-pearl plaque can be left in place so two photos can be displayed or removed so the locket can hold a lock of hair or a pressed flower. This is the only aventurine locket we have seen...

This is one of our very favorite rings.
