I don’t often use the expression “Holy Grail” but Tane’s “Tarascan” necklace is one of those few pieces in the world of vintage Mexican silver jewelry that deserves it. Especially if it bears pre-1980 hallmarks - which is the case here. Habitually referred to as “the Tiffany’s of Mexico”, Tane has been producing holloware and jewelry in silver and gold since 1942 and is known throughout the world for the quality of craftsmanship, impeccable design and perfect finishing...

The clasp on this sterling silver bracelet is fashioned as a buckle, with a hinged bar that closes over the end of the ‘belt’ to secure it. The bracelet is constructed as three hinged pieces, with bands of chain work applied to the outside. It is marked 925 Mexico on the inside of the securing bar. The bracelet measures 1 inch wide at the buckle; the band measures 1/2 inch wide. The bracelet, when closed, measures 2 1/2 inches across the opening and has an internal circumference of 7 inches...

This sterling, Mexican fish pendant married metal is copper (to silver). It has an azur-malachite eye and is very well crafted. It measures 2 1/4" x 5/8". The onyx center is encased in sterling (top and bottom). The back is hallmarked MEXICO, then TAXCO MEXICO 925 with the silversmith's initials, AAB in the middle. The assay mark is # 1. It is in great condition.

I love zodiac jewelry and thankfully so did the old Mexican maestros! Yet over the years I have noticed that no matter what their form (rings, brooches or bracelets), they are being snatched up with increasing fervor. So saying that they are becoming more difficult to find would not be an understatement, especially for rings which are an already challenging area of collecting in the vintage Mexican jewelry world...

A pair of vintage circa 1955 sterling silver and enamel brooches by Margot de Taxco, (Margot Van Voorhies Carr). One is a dark grey poodle dog, #5686 and the other is a multicolored rooster, #5793. These brooches may be purchased individually or as a pair.

The poodle measures 2 1/4" high and 1 1/8" at the widest. Marked Made in Mexico Sterling, Margot de Taxco and 5686. Also marked with Eagle #16.

A fabulous example of Taxco modernism by Los Ballesteros, this vintage Mexican silver and amethyst bracelet is as beautiful to look at as it is comfortable to wear. A couple of days ago I presented another creation by the same workshop and I will suggest that the two pieces are representative of their line of medium-width modernist link bracelets...

Approximately 16in. wearable length this is an older master piece designed by Sigi Pineda and properly hallmarked with eagle for Sigi Pineda. The inside measurement for the neck is 4.25in. wide inside x 5.25in. inside. With 12 gem quality amethyst cabachons 12mm x7mm and weighing 129.8 grams this piece is a crowning jewel for a Mexican silver collector. Simply the best, LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

This sterling silver ring is a size 7 1/2". It has a nice mod design with its intersecting, bi level sodalite, bezel-set stones. It is marked JR? 925 and STERLING. The band is marked with the Eagle Assay mark for Taxco Mexico. It is in great condition and has a good heft.

The clasp holds securely. In very fine condition with only minor tarnish. The enameling is vibrant.

Estate fresh.

These earrings are unique as they are Taxco Mexico with a Native American motif. The "top" is convex with a diameter of 1". The 3 dangling leaves measure 1 1/2". They are marked 925 TS-14 MEXICO. They are in excellent condition and have good heft.

A 14k yellow gold heart pendant with diamonds from the 1970s. This classy and stylish 1 x 9/16" (including bale) pendant has wave-like styling on one side and a row of 9 genuine diamonds on the other side. The diamonds are approximate 2 points each (by gauge) and this pendant tests as 14k gold (any marks are obscured and not easily seen). It weighs 3.3 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs...

A 14k yellow gold amethyst with 6 diamonds semi-cluster ring circa 1960s 1970. This vintage size 8 ring features a central natural oval cut amethyst flanked by two trios of genuine diamonds. The diamonds are 3 points each by gauge, this ring is stamped WAL and 14 K and it weighs 3.2 grams. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

This beautiful pin is in the style of Margot De Taxco, enamel jewelry. It measures 2" x 3/4". The turquoise enamel is beautiful and the fish has a dark blue, enamel eye. The back is marked MEXICO 925. It is in excellent condition.

A lightly hammered sterling silver bangle bracelet signed by the artist, 'RLC'.

Alternates between hammered and flattened sides.

Measures 2 1/4" across the diameter. Also measures about 7" around the inner circumference. Better for a small to medium wrist.

Nice weight and quality. Has a warm patina, a few areas of tarnish and minor surface scratches.

Fine work.

A 10k white gold green and clear spinels ring from the 1970s. This size 6 ring features a rectangular blue/green barrel cut 10 x 8 mm. spinel stone flanked by two white baguette spinels all in a 3/4 x 1/2" setting. This ring is stamped 10K, it weighs 3.4 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs however the stones have some internal cleaves and flaws which are exaggerated in our halogen-lit photos...

A 14k pave diamonds ring or wedding band circa 1980. This vintage size 6-1/2 or 6.5 yellow gold ring sparkles from the flat-set 32 diamonds, which are set in white gold. It measures 3/4" x 3/16" along the diamond section, which measure approximately 2 points each). This ring is unmarked, possibly due to an earlier sizing but tests as 14k gold, and it weighs 2.3 grams. It in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, or damage...

An elegant 14k multi-color gold bangle bracelet from the 1970s. This just slightly less than 1/8" wide bangle (approimately 2.7mm) has a repeat design with a textured finish. It has alternating segments of white, yellow and rose gold. It is stamped 585 with an partially obscured Italian post-1968 guarantee mark (CASTELUCCI ULISSE & CARNIANI PATRIZIO, Arezzo Italy - Source: www.silvercollection.it). It weighs approximately 7.4 grams and it measures 2-1/2" x 2-1/4", in a slightly oval shape...
