Rare sterling modernist choker necklace by Sigi, c.1952. Extremely heavy, it weighs 5 troy oz(150 gms)and is in excellent condition. The concave necklace houses graduated dimensional silver balls going around the entire piece. Sigi opened his PLATEROS shop in 1952, and one rarely sees the PLATEROS mark. Outstanding late Art Nouveau Continental silver cufflinks with a wonderful design of a gold spider sitting in her niello web. The workmanship and design is quite original and accomplished. The backs are marked with unidentified Continental (possibly German) marks, including the jeweler’s mark “HF”.

Exquisite Victorian sticking fashioned from 12K yellow gold, the head in the shape of a horseshoe prong-set with a double row of graduated rose-cut diamonds and cabochon rubies. One of the rubies is an old mine-cut and another is a rectangular cushion-cut. In both cases, the stones appear to be original, as the setting fits them perfectly. Perhaps the jeweler was more interested in matching color than specific cuts. This was not an uncommon practice in the era...
