Each calla lily is hand-applied to a horizontal frame, alternating with vertical rectangular panels with a lightly hammered look. A maestro from the middle period of Mexico's 20th c. Silver Renaissance, Carsi is among those Taxco silversmiths about whom we don't really know much. I have had pieces by him a few times over the years and I was pleasantly surprised to have found his signature on the ornate bangle bracelet presented here. This wire-work scrolled heart motif I am used to associating with Arte en Plata, even though I have seen it by other makers or even anonymous in the past...

Reminiscent of Scandinavian style, this bracelet features lovely openwork panels molded with graceful calla lilies. The panels are securely linked with ribbed sterling bands; the back of one panel bears an applied plaque with a patent number of 121373, which was granted in 1940 to Victor Primavera, who founded Danecraft. It has a secure hook clasp. The bracelet measures about 7 ¼ inches long by about 1 inch wide. Weight: 22.9 grams

This substantial sterling silver bangle bracelet features a classic mid-century modernist design of an oblong shape with two flattened sides. The sides, however, are thicker and a little more rounded than the more common interpretation. It is marked inside with the Mexico Eagle 1 and the maker’s initials of ESM. The surface exhibits a nicely aged patina, with a hint of tarnish. Inner dimensions are 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/8 inches. Weight: 33.2 grams

A Celtic sterling and enamel hammered sash pin brooch from 1946. This 2-1/8 x 2" fully hallmarked brooch features blue, orange and green enameled "stones". It has hallmarks for Chester, England 1946 and it was made by the Wayne Hart Co. (1945-) of Birmingham and Chester. It has a c-clasp and it weighs 11.2 grams. This delicate sterling silver bracelet features lavender cloisonné enamel panels enhanced with rhinestones that alternate with square-mounted rhinestones. The edges of the panels are textured to give the feel of millegraining. The bracelet is well made, with scrolled details in the enamel work, and securely soldered connecting links. It has a good heft, despite its delicate appearance, and an original spring-ring clasp in good working order...

Matching the brooch of the same design that it also available here (you can see the two pieces together in one of the photos here) this Los Castillo Mexican silver and copper ring is a rather rare find and I am happy to have come upon it. Weaving together the two metals in a chevron / arrow pattern, it is additionally embellished with tiny little sterling beads and has a visually interesting shank as well...

Interesting hand made modernist/ethnic jade and sterling ring. Has a Mexican feel with none of those marks. It is marked "STER." and a logo that looks like an animal(see photo #4). The front measures 7/8" by 3/4" by 5/8" high. Size 5 and in excellent condition......$10 for insured USA shipping.

This elaborately worked bracelet, done by hand, was made by Maciel Silver Factory of Mexico, c.1950’s. It is marked “925/1000," "MACIEL" (maker's mark), "STERLING MADE IN MEXICO” (see pictures). The central, convex, Aztec god oval measures 1 3/4” x 1 1/4” while the cuff with the eagle warrior masks measures 1 3/8”. This piece is in excellent condition.

Mounted in a round, beaded silver gilt setting, the amber cabochons in these cuff links exhibit with a vivid honey color and some cloudiness. The cuff links bear the Soviet marks for .875 silver, as well as the town mark for Riga and an unidentified maker’s mark accompanied by the mark for 1957. They are securely hinged at one end of the bridge bar. The button portions measure 5/8 inch in diameter.

A mid century modern necklace with a large pendant in pewter by Eivind Hillestad, Norway. Marked EH, and 79. Pendant has long segmented leaves. Measures 3 3/4" long to the top of the bale and 2" across. Chain is 32" long and slips over the head. In nice condition with some minor scratches. Cool mod design!

A vintage modernist bronze link bracelet by Pentti Sarpaneva. Measures about 7 3/8" around and 1 3/8" wide. Has a box push in closure which holds securely and a safety chain. Marked P. Sarpaneva on the back of the clasp. Nice contrast of dark and light surfaces. Fine condition, classic design. 1960's.

Alovely Brooch by the famous Taxco Silver Artist Hector Aguilar features two stylized flower blossoms along with a curved leaf on curving stems. Crafted in Aguilars favored 940 silver which give the silver a lovely rich patina. It measures 3" wide by 3 1/2" long and weigh 18.6 grams. Hallmarked Taxco, HA, 940. Light age related wear and tarnish a secure pin clasp. A lovely piece.

Measures about 1 5/8" across and 1 7/8" high including the bale. In very nice condition with a dark patina, we did not polish it.

Marked with the Anvil, and 925S on one side of the bale and Finland on the other side. Fine example of Kauppi's work.

This bracelet is made of six linked stylized flowers alternating with bars decorated with incised circular elements. The flower 'petals' are actually formed as coffee beans. The box clasp is secure, as are the connections between each flower. There is an Iguala/Mexico/925diamond-shaped mark on the back of the clasp with the unidentified maker’s initials, which look like EHP but may actually be EMB according to the third edition of Bille Hougart's book of Mexican maker's marks. A bold bow pin enhanced with white chalcedony at the knot and in teardrops at the ribbon ends, with an unidentified maker’s mark of S within a C. The stones are securely mounted, exhibiting some wear -- tiny scratches and minor loss to the polished surface -- but no cracks or chips. One of the most energetic Taxco modernists, Sigi Pineda enjoyed a long, creative career. Prolific and ever “on the move”, he was at his best working within the confines of minimalist design. Sigi rarely used “unnecessary” ornamentation, depending more on fluidity of lines to imply motion, colored stones to impart texture, oxidation to add dimension to what are mostly flat surfaces in his jewelry. Modernist globular silver earrings by renown Finnish designer Liisa Vitali whose characteristics are pierced, cut-out shapes. The Leppäkerttu / Ladybug collection appeared around 1970. Together with the Pitsi / Lace series it belongs to Vitali’s most popular designs. Swedish import marks (three crowns in an oval and S) and 925. Diameter of the little globes: "3/5/ 1.5 cm. A modernist pair of sterling silver screw back earrings by Charles H. Cole, born 1908 and active 1930s-50s. He signed his work with a face hallmark. The facial features spell out his last name. Also signed Sterling and ©. Screw backs are also marked sterling.

An Art Deco 14K diamond stick pin circa 1920s. This vintage stickpin has an approximately 7 point genuine round faceted diamond set in the top section which is white gold. These 1920s cuff links are beautifully enameled in dark blue on a white ground; elaborate carved designs show through the enamel. Each button is edged with embossed sterling silver scrolls. Embedded vertical silver lines run down the center of the white ground and frame the blue diamond-shaped reserves.
