Metal bust of a cat with glass eyes, gray color metal with remnants of silver, mounted on a round green marble pedestal, bust has written information on back, but is only partial and not legible. This very unusual portrait of a lady appears to be dressed in the finest apparal of its day. Notice the pearls and feather hat. It is mounted in the original stretcher and appears to be a replacement frame. There is writing on the reverse of the canvas and more info to be added later.

Description: Wonderful gilt etching and aquatint of a sailing ship, superbly and delicately executed, early 19th century era, securely housed in a fine wood frame and since I didn't want to cause any damages to this nice frame, therefore I couldn't examine the item out of frame, but it looks fabulous and condition is great. Etching, 4 3/4" by 6 5/8" inside the mat, 10" by 12 1/2" in simple black strip frame, titled in pencil at left margin "A Bermuda Lane" and signed in margin in pencil at lower right by artist RAY ALLEN. I do not see a listing for an artist of this name. The work likely dates to about the 1950's I would think, and is probably still in its original frame. The impression is strong, with a distinct plate mark. Disregard false yellow colors in some of the photos, which are an effect of the camera...

A color poster "Fragments", 1985, hand signed in marker at bottom by the noted California sculptor of human figures, ROBERT GRAHAM (1938-2008). The piece measuring 38 1/2" by 20 1/2" is very clean and fresh. Graham was born in Mexico City where as a youngster he was exposed to the great mural art of Mexico. Uncommonly exquisite, large original drawing in pastel, 25 1/2" by 19 1/2", 35 1/2" by 27 1/2" as professionally framed in bleached wood, signed at lower left and dated there '91 by the noted American artist LOU KOHL-MORGAN (1942-). Purchased recently in Portland, Maine, the work bears a gallery label from the Frick Gallery of Belfast, Maine. The title of the work is "Equinox". Oil on canvas of a mysterious red cabbage on a string and an orange gourd on a tiled surface, windows beyond looking out onto a hilly landscape, 16" by 20" (23 1/2" by 27" signed "Hernandez" and dated 1995 at lower right. The painting should probably be reframed, as the cream liner is soiled. The painting has some yellowed varnish but otherwise is in good condition.

Original oil painting on board by Michael Aloysius Sarisky (Ohio, 1906-1974), mid-century, in excellent condition, signed l.r. 31" by 28". Michael Sarisky is known as a WPA mural artist. He exhibited regularly at the Cleveland Museum of Art's May shows and this museum still holds 3 of his works. We currently have two works on paper by this artist also available.

Jiro Yonezawa attended the Beppu Vocational Arts Training Center in 1981 and spent a year as an apprentice to Masakazu Ono.
