American Artist Leon Gutmann born in New York and studied with many of the abstract Artist including those of the Students League. He was personal friend of the artist Hans Hoffman and also showed with Max Kassler.
Gutmann studied in France after being educated in his Native New York, after WWI. He met the French Artist Jean De Botton, in 1950 who introduced him to his circle of painters and influential to his work.

This is an original pencil signed lithograph by American artist Joseph Pennell. He traveled down to Panama in 1912 to record the building of the Canal. He created a series of lithographic images from that trip. This image is titled: Steam Shovel in the Cut at Bas Obispo , created and printed in 1912. The image measures 16 7/8X22 1/4 inches, printed on a Fabiano watermarked laid type paper. The overall sheet size is 25 1/2X20 1/2 inches.
