A nicely painted waist length portrait, done on organic material, of an attractive woman with dark brown eyes and hair. The sitter, posed in front of a reddish-brown drape, is wearing a black gown with a lace collar cinched with a brooch matching her earrings. A gold chain with two pendants completes her outfit. Presented in a later gilt frame.
The painting is in excellent condition with no issues. The sight size is 2 1/2" by 2" and the framed size is 5 1/2" by 4 1/2".

A PAIR of ink sketch drawings, one fully signed, the subject female nudes, executed in brown ink, measuring 10" by 6" (18" by 14" nicely framed in gold), the smaller work, (4 1/4" by 3 1/2", and 12" by 11" framed) a black ink sketch, signed with initials, of a standing woman in full-length dress with poofy sleeves. The artist is MARCEL-LENOIR (1872-1931), born with the name Jules Oury in Montauban, southwestern France...
By the contemporary Japanese artist HIROMICHI YAMAGATA (1948-). this can be described as a collage of tissue like paper on which is drawn in pencil and blue ink an abstract, almost biomorphic decorative design, charcoal used to create a smudged background, then the paper was affixed around the edges to a white canvas background. It is signed at lower right "Yamagata" and dated there 2007...

The sight size is 2 3/4" by 2 1/2", and the overall size is 3 1/4" by 2 3/4". The condition of the miniature and the surround is excellent, with no problems or restoration at all.

This is a fine hand colored etching by British artist Elyse Ashe Lord. The title is Kite Flying, created and printed circa 1925. This pencil signed impression was sold by Arthur Ackermann in New York. This came to us in the original Asian style frame with the Ackermann label on the back. The image measures 12 7/8X18 inches. The overall frame measures 20X26 inches. Very fine condition. Printed on a thin Japan type sheet.
