Rare and early vintage albumen print of the Shimbashi Railway Station in Tokyo, with festive decoration and banners wearing the imperial seal "kiku-mon". The Tokyo to Yokohama rail line opened on 14th October 1872, with a great ceremony as the emperor took the first official ride, arriving at Shimbashi Station in a Western carriage. Mounted on coeval cardboard. Condition: fine, minimally faded, a tiny hole. Dimension: photo: 20.1 cm x 25.9 cm, cardboard: 34.8 cm x 43.8 cm.

Two ancient bronze "coins" shaped like small bowed knives. Both have encrustation on the bronze of varied coloration including that of a a blue-green malachite color from long burial. Period: Shang Dynasty (1600-1028 BC) Sizes: One is 14.5 cm long. The other is 17.7 cm long. Condition: The coins have natural wear and small chips to their rims and encrustation due to age. Nice patina. Would make an interesting addition to any coin collection.

An unusual item for the philatelist collector of the famous Great Britain "Penny Rose" stamp of Victorian England: 240 stamps, arranged in a rectangle 20 by 12, all used (canceled) examples, dating to 1864,at the earliest, as these are all perforated and bear the positional plating letters in each corner. I am not a devoted stamp collector so am doing my best after some internet research. The "Penny Rose" or Penny Red succeeded the Penny Black of 1841...
