Naruko-kei Kokeshi by Tsugawara Wahei, born Sept. 13, 1945. Wood, Height 7". Although this is a typical Naruko stle kokeshi, the words "Kaizen Damashii" (Group Spirit) have been written over the normal decorative patterns. Also written is "Mogami Denki Kabushiki Kaisha" (Mogami Electric Company, Inc.) This was probably commissioned and given out to company employees at a corporate solidarity event or campaign. Probably dates from the 1980's.

This really nice Chippendale 7 1/2 Inch diameter Flat Soup Bowl with gold trim was made in Japan for Montgomery Ward. This Soup bowl is signed on the back MONTGOMERY WARD - FINE CHINA - CHIPPENDALE - MADE IN JAPAN. It is in excellent, unused, condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Asa (hemp) noragi (work wear) with fine kasuri pattern which is katazome (stecil-resist-dye) and vegetable indigo dye. Both weft and warp are hand-plied. This kind of thick hemp textiles are found in Tohoku district. Generally in good condition but has some mending patches and stitches and wear in shoulder lines. Late 19th to early 20th century. Striking, tall, a canne verticale vase attributed to Fratelli Toso. Similar designs are shown in Leslie Pinas book "Fratelli Toso" pgs, 22-23. It requires great skill to keep the canes from spiraling, especially in a tall piece. The craftsman who made this kept the canes perfectly vertical. Composed of alternating black and opaline canes, the space between the canes appears to be silver, but on closer inspection the spaces are clear glass which allow light to pass through the piece...

Being offered are a pair of circa 1963 .970 silver (better than sterling) candlesticks by Antonio Pineda of Taxco, Mexico. Candlesticks in an impressive multi paneled geometric design. Dimensions 2 1/2" high x 3" diameter. Marked. In excellent condition. Great Pineda gauge of silver!

This beautiful shibori (tie-dye) is already cut to make a haori jacket. The skinny pieces under the arms are cut and attached by someone who knows what he is doing. It has not gone through Yunoshi, the process to stretch shibori using steam. The size of this gown is extremely small at this moment because a regular haori (short jacket) roll is used to make into shibori fabric. 36 inches x 16 1/2 inches long with 9 inches hemming tacked inside...

A rare and exceptionally large and imposing 1930s Bourne Denby stoneware vase with styalised art deco cloud decoration. This item is in very good condition with no damages and no restoration. 36cm(14.2 inches)high and 23.5cm(9.3 inches)across at the widest point.

A vintage hammered copper small pot, unmarked, likely circa first part of the 20th century, with interesting curved handle, and hand placed grommet. Measurements are 4" high not including handle, and about 5 1/4" across at widest. Not the famous Dirk van Erp of the San Francisco Bay area, but nevertheless and interesting piece. There is a dent along the bottom edge as shown.

This fine pair of Italian lamps came with a store tag attached to one of the switches that said, "Quackenbush Co. Patterson NJ. This was a local department store that existed from the 1800's to the early 1950's, a fact which provides us a date. The lamps appear to have never been used, in excellent condition and are a nicely matched pair On close inspection one can see that the lamps are hand made , yet nearly identical, pointing to the expertise of the Murano Glass Artisans.

Mosaic pottery tazza and vase from the 1940s or 50s, by Gerbino, France. The handling and modelling of clays in various colors necessary for the creation of this kind of art objects was a complicated procedure, mastered only by Jean Gerbino and his family in Vallauris, the French studio pottery center of the period. Impressed marks Gerbino and Vallauris. Height of tazza "3 ½ / 9 cm and of the vase "5 ½ / 14 cm, diameter of tazza "6/ 15 cm. Condition: fine.

A Sterling Silver Hand Wrought Arts and Crafts Square Shaped Bowl or Dish, by Arthur Stone of Gardner, Massachusetts. The craftsman was either David Carlson (1909-1919) or Magnus Carlberg (1922-1932). Dimensions; 4.5" x 4.5" x 1.25" high, weight 5.5 Troy ounces. Excellent condition. There is a monogram "JBR" on the underside and the date Jan.15, 1944, presumably given as a gift at that later time.

This Royal Doulton plate is 10 1/4" in diameter. This plate is crazed. If you have the patience all of the crazing will come out. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs to this item.

This headdress would have been worn by a young Pashtun woman. It is heavily beaded and decorated with wonderful embroidery, and various buttons and coins. The Pashtun range across Afghanistan, Pakistan and Northern India. This hat was sourced in India but it may not have started there.

The head dress hat is 25 inches long and is in excellent condition.

This fine piece of Italian fruit sculpture by Archimede Seguso was blown into a diamond patterned mold and has a skillfully applied arrangement of crown leaves, each leaf applied individually. Executed in pure crystal glass, the sculptural form attracts and refracts light beautifully. The pineapple is 11.5" tall, has a polished bottom, and is in good condition with no damage, unmarked.

This wonderful, sophisticated vintage Fenton bowl has all the dancing colors of fine carnival glass. It has rays or panels of stippled glass, then smooth rays alternating around the inside of the bowl. The base blank color is a vibrant emerald green. This lovely sits on a collar foot and the rim is ruffled. This charming bowl is in excellent condition with a bubble or two, and a small mold mark...

This lovely Cambridge Glass crystal creamer and sugar set are quite elegant. They feature leaf emblems with flowers surrounding the body of each piece. They stand on a pedestal collar foot, and have a scalloped rim. The creamer stands 4" high, and the sugar stands 3 1/2" high - each are in excellent, undamaged condition. This sterling 1973 National Scout Jamboree souvenir spoon was made by Manchester Silver. It is in excellent condition. The enamel colors on the crest are crisp with no damage. This colorful crest appears to have been added on to the Manchester spoon. This spoon is 4 3/8" long

A mid century artist signed Ikebana basket for flower arranging. Made of delicate fine split bamboo, thin bamboo and Akebi vine. The three dimensional shape resembles a flared skirt when viewed in front and a boat keel when viewed from the side.
