Noh theater wood mask representing the character of Shakumi, a middle-aged woman. The loose strands of hair give her the careworn air of one who has suffered and survived countless trials. Note the slight sag to her cheeks and the creases on either side of her mouth. She often appears in the role of a mother. Japan, early 20th century. Height: 21 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. A few signs of use, otherwise very good condition.

An old mythical Dragon Horse necklace with low grade silver engraved balls, carved turquoise beads, natural coral branches accented by white and green jade hoops on a braided silk cord. Chinese large trunk, carved of camphor wood with flowers and birds, a large ho-o bird and peonies are carved on the trunk lid. Size: 16 1/2" high x 34 3/4" long x 26 1/2" wide

A fine Japanese antique Satsuma tripod koro with lid. Decorated on one side with a group of children playing and on the other side a garden scene with flowers against a fence. The domed cover decorated the same with a seated foo dog finial resting on a ball. Resting on three animal head legs. All highlighted with gilt.

Age: Meiji Period (19th Century)

Condition: Very good condition. There is a small chip on the mane and the tail of the foo dog.

Vintage chinese peking glass bowl with a gold leaf rim. The outside is decorated with beautiful, intricate scenery depicting an oceanside temple amidst large rock formations and trees, while tiny sail boats and birds float off in the distance. The inside of the bowl has a similar depiction of a small house by the ocean. Signed and stamped on its side, and marked on the bottom.

Balinese antique pair of Dwarapala temple guardians. Carved of stone, these figures once guarded a temple entrance, a warning to humans and negative energies not to pass. Their ferocious appearance is a warning that only those with good intentions will be ushered through and guided to ascend a higher path.

This carved double fish nephrite with silver pin is 2 inches by 1 ¾ inches. Ca.1950. It is in good condition.

Probably used once and then packed away for another generation, this vintage silk traditional sari from Varanasi is a vibrant as the day it was loomed. A small leaf pattern of gold metallic thread dots the entire length of the deep green silk field. There is a 2 inch brocaded border on each side which also runs the length of the sari. The end panel is ornately patterned brocaded silk and makes extensive use of gold metallic threads...

Hand-carved Chinese natural jade pendant, depicting mandarin duck, certificate included. Dimension: 85 x 64 x 30 (mm) or 3.35 x 2.52 x 1.18 inches with total weight of 0.52 lbs/236 grams, no condition issues.

DESCRIPTION: An appealing green nephrite disk or bi, carved with two chilong dragons whose heads and bodies ring the edges with their limbs draping down on either side. From a mid-west collection, the design, color and form are quite pleasing and could be used as a toggle or an eye-catching pendant when incorporated into a necklace. DIMENSIONS: 2 5/8” diameter (6 cm), 2.25 oz. (64g) weight.

Very rare tomesode with blue birds. A light to medium weight crepe silk decorated with yuzen dyeing techique and small touches of silk embroidery. A vintage Japanese 2 section Kamo Kimono Tansu chest made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia). All original hardware with maker's name engraved into the main lock plate. Upper section features two large hinged doors behind which are 8 kimono trays for storing textiles. The lower section has 3 drawers for additional spacious storage. Below the bottom drawer lies a false floor cover that hides a secret compartment where important papers and valuables were kept.
