Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled “Santa Fe” by Toshi Yoshida (1911-1995) dated 1971. The print is titled and dated in Japanese in the left margin. The artist’s block signature and English title are in the bottom margin. This image was printed posthumously by the Yoshida family from the original blocks. A heavily glazed early square pottery dish by Kimura Ichiro enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The sandy clay appears to have been twice fired, the first firing unglazed with a simple ash burn later a very thick feldspathick glaze wiped on and re-fired. It is roughly 11 by 11-1/2 x 2-1/2 inches (28 x 29 x 6 cm) and is in good condition, no chips or cracks but some color has soaked into the crackled white glaze...

Japanese Musha Ningyo of Shoki the Demon Queller, made by Beishu. Beishu has Mukei Bunkazai status (Important Intangible Cultural Property). His Shoki shows great craftsmanship, with silk hair, glass eyes, gofun face and hands, with sumptuous silk brocade. This magnificent sculpture reaches the level of the master work of Beishu, whose work is found in museums and important collections of the Showa Period in Japan. Kutchi Banjara gypsy Heavy home spun Cotton tapestry panel with Silk embroidery. The panel has cotton taps at the top for hanging.
