A large silk painting of a scene from the history of Japan by Kai Seihyo (1882-1974), one of Japan's noted painters specializing in historical subjects. Kai Seihyo was trained at the Tokyo University of Fine Arts. It was later in Seihyo's life where the artist began producing unique historical subjects and received high acclaim where Seihyo was known for his paintings of samurai and horses. Chinese blanc de chine porcelain figure of the bodhisattva of compassion Quan Yin. She is sculpted lounging against an armrest with a lion's face. One of her delicate hands is emerged out from her robes, clutching a sutra scroll. The bodhisattva is easily identified by her large ear lobes and protruding third eye, attributes of an immortal being. Her backside is signed with a chop and a gourd shaped signature.

Chinese antique blue and white stoneware vase. Painted in under-glaze blue with a central theme of a bird among flowering branches with animal head side handles holding stationary rings. Decorated the same on the opposite side. There is a blue hue to the glaze. Glazed on the inside and base with the base rim unglazed. The base with a four-character mark reading Fugui jiaqi (Beautiful vessel for the rich and honourable).

Chinese enameled porcelain bowl with flower design, earing Chinese seal mark,early to mid 20th century with diameter of 6.5 inches, no condition concerns, excluding wood base.

Beautiful mother of pearl inlaid in hardwood. The arms are inlaid with a scroll design. The back of the chair is inlaid with an elegant battle scene with men on horseback and a fort. The reverse of the chair is inlaid with flowers. The seat has 4 petal pattern at each corner. The legs, arms, and frame of the chair are beautifully carved with bats, plums and a scrolling pattern. Measures 41" tall, seat measures 16" wide, 17.5" tall.
