Chinese rank badge with what I believe to be a Sixth Rank Badge with the central depiction of the Egret. The right-facing bird soaring toward the sun, is surrounded by ruyi-style clouds, flowers and auspicious symbols. All depicted with bright gold and iron red tie threads. Professionally mounted and sealed as a picture in a wooden frame.

It has dark spots, skip glazes, glaze crazing, glaze cracks, and surface wears and scratches. The wood stand has chips and surface scratches (as seen in the photos).

This is a charming ivory letter opener, a perfect present for the ivory or tribal art collector, probably carved by Alaskan Eskimos, ca 1950s, highlighted by a sleek walrus form handle, with beautifully carved tusks; flippers and tail. Traditionally the balisht was intended as a grain sack but its secondary use was that of a cushion. This one measures 33 x 66 cm and has a soft knotted and piled face and a wonderful unique kilim flat woven back which is decorated with colorful bands of chevron patterns mixed with narrow black and white geometrical patterns. The opening of the bag is at the top and the horse hair loops around the mouth of the bag were used for fastening the stuff inside the balisht...

DESCRIPTION: A vintage terra cotta pitcher (or handled pot), skillfully hand-painted in green and white glazes with deer painted on each side using fluid brush strokes. Originating from the Tlaquepaque-Tonala area of Mexico, this delightful redware pitcher is in excellent condition; no chips or cracks. DIMENSIONS: Body is 6.25” x 5.5”; 5” high.
